I am looking at some Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS tires that are supposed to have low rolling resistance. I did see that the load/speed is 99V which equates to 1706 per tire. I have the Select AWD. From what I can tell, it looks like these should be fine. I did a search and these have been mentioned a handful of times but I haven't seen where anyone has installed them. Curious is this load is adequate and if anyone else has used them.

Thanks!

To be definitive, NO

The basic reason is the contact patch won't ride on the road properly = less traction and uneven /faster wear.

Thanks. My next pick would be Hankook Ventus V2 which are XL rated so...I guess that's my direction.

Thank you. I have never had to be so picky with my tires. In the past I usually just snag some Pirelli or Coopers that were all season, fit, and call it a day. Trying to hold on to as much range as possible certainly adds more to the decision making process.

Does your car take the 18" or 19" tires?

It has 18" but I am putting on some 19 or 20 aftermarket so I'm trying to minimize the range impact.

Got it, if you did a 245/45/20 Pirelli does make a P7 All Season with LRR

I would go 20" because of the better selection of tires and in my opinion, the difference in range drop between 19" and 20" is probably not much.

I can tell you going bigger is going to have a negative effect on range. I chose to go to 18" on my premium and saw a considerable range boost.

FYI- We installed 20” OZ Racing wheels with 255/45-20 Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires on our 4X and our GOM estimates 250-265 miles when it’s warm out. Previously it was 265-275 in similar conditions. 10-15 mile drop for the vast grip and looks improvement is worth it. And we like to accelerate briskly and our highway speeds around here are 70-80mph.

It really depends, I hope someday we get wise and have tire labels like Europe. You can look at the label and know exactly the effect that the tire is going to have on your range.

My summers are going to be 275/40/20 or 245/45/20 and they have the same efficacy. The euro labels rate rolling resistance A-E and it's a 2% drop for each letter.

So if you knew the factory 225/60/18 Michelin tires were rated "A" and the DWS06+ in a 255/45/20 was rated a "C" you would know its a 4% difference in efficiency

Uh, yeah, that would be super useful.
