someone who lives in a desert, the roof shade is a must whenever the temps are hitting over 100*F. The glass gets very hot to the touch and having it installed keeps the cabin a bit cooler.

What is the recommended tow hitch for the Mach-E? I'm not going to tow anything. Just need a 2" hitch to mount the bike rack.

I am in the process of adding my "accessories". So far, aside from inside additions, I have added the Front Lip, Rear Spoiler, Side Window Louvres, 2-Channel Dash Cam with radar module and battery pack, rear license plate bracket and a few others. I love this car. PICS:

I ordered this set of two tow hooks thinking the "R" hook style (lower right of photo - supposedly for Ford) would work, but it didn't. (And as already stated, the "T" hook - upper right - doesn't fit.)

However happily the "J" hook works just fine.

I also got this tow strap:

And these locking carabiners to attach the hooks to the strap - one for each end plus one for the center of the tow strap to create a harness if needed.

I totally agree that it’s a waste if you want it to keep your car cooler, but sometimes after a long day in the hot sun you just don’t want to be in the sun at all any more. For those times, the sun shade is a nice option. This one is super subjective but I definitely like having it for those times personally

I agree with you 100% about when you don't want the Sun beating down on your head. I'm starting to go bald and it was very uncomfortable with just the panoramic roof. I'm very comfortable now with the sun shade (and the reflective shade above it). For me , it was definitely NOT a waste of money! The only thing I don't like about it is that you lose the panoramic view when the shade is in. I'll remove it in September some time and then the view will be back until next June.

I live 18 degrees north of the equator. It’s hot here now with temps in the 90s before noon. The car spends a good deal of time in full tropical “summer” sun several days a week. The car doesn’t get uncomfortably hot. If people are worried, put up a windshield screen. That will do far more than a roof shade imo.

Not for your head. I don't like the Sun beating down on my noggin. But hey, it's personal preference.

As I commute 90 miles daily RT on windy & well forested coastal 101… I carry an electric chainsaw, hatchet, boots, rain pants, rain coat winter hat, gloves, gallon of window wash, flashlight, flares, a couple of iPhone charging cables, a big can of fix-a-flat (for others) basic Zombie apocalypse safety stuff. I also plugged in a battery state of charging voltage meter. I also have a microfiber towel for cleaning sensors, cleaning windshield. I’ll add a fire extinguisher as well. Everything in the frunk.

I no longer carry tow ropes, etc. though I’ve though about a front tow bridle or at least one strong synthetic rope w/appropriate hook.

I have been searching for mud flaps to protect lower panels from road debris. Finally found some at RokBlokz. A little pricey, but are just what I want. I went for the Rally style. Many color to choose from, if that is your thing. Waitng until cooler to install the fronts.

Nope I will be going with the 3D Maxspider. I wish they sold them separately. At least the fronts and rears.

A question about the mats. Is the surface rubbery or more carpet like? The reason I ask is that I often drive barefoot. Thanks in advance for your reply.

I have actually used the following in my cars: umbrella,, blanket for cargo area protection, all-weather floor mats, and front window shades (not strictly necessary). I put a soft sided cooler in the frunk of the MME

The Maxspider are kind of hybrid. Not really plastic but not full-on carpet.

OP here. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I've already stocked my MME with some items and added rear door handles.

Semi-related question -- my Mobile Charging Kit in the trunk only contains the 240v adapter but NOT the 120v adapter. All documentation I've found on the Ford website indicates that the mobile kit has both adapters. Can any recent MME owners advise if their kit contained two adapters or not?
