OK!
I placed an order for a SR Select with C/T package on 3/11/2022.
It didn't make the build schedule and has been converted to a 2023 SR Premium. I did get the protection package with the rubber mats. I still don't have a build date, and the priority has been sitting at 01 for a few weeks now. But I'm optimistic I'll see a build date soon.

That said, I'm getting ready for its arrival.
Based on all the great advice and reviews on this forum, I have been collecting things to make my wife's car a little bit better.
The most recent addition was a sun shade for the glass roof that is standard on the premium as she is a vampire and does not like sunroofs, etc.

Check out my photo for my current accessories.

  1. Am I missing anything here that I should get her?
  2. Does anyone put the screen protector on the dashboard screen? If so, why? It just came with it.

You'll probably find that she won't need the roof sunshade cover. I hate light. HATE light. Even with the sun directly overhead, the glass roof doesn't bother me. Ford did an excellent job with the roof materials.

If you're a Boy Scout type (or she's a Girl Scout type) and likes to always be prepared, I found that this emergency pack:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AQ6E5XQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Plus this micro-umbrella:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FXT87XL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

...fit perfectly side-by-side together in the lower cubby area beneath the charging pad. When you get them both in black, they vanish down there. I've got the Maxpedition bag filled to capacity with two emergency water packets, two emergency ration bars, a flashlight, a knife, a multi-tool, hand sanitizer, a package of tissues, a sardine can of emergency items, and a ton of bandages, quick clot powders, space blankets, and rain ponchos. Crazy overkill? Probably, especially since I don't "go" anywhere, but those two items together are shaped such that you'd think they were intended by Ford itself to be in that cubby.

Because of all of the black inside the cabin, I bought one of these dusters and I stick it in the glove box. When I'm at a light, I'll pull it out and run it over the dash, speedo, screen, etc. Works like a champ to keep dust down:

A can of this cleaning putty is great, because the Ford has lots of little divots and crevices that collect dust and crumbs, etc. It's cheap and effective.

Lastly, I'd keep the provided Ford charger in the trunk and keep it for emergencies or traveling. I wouldn't use it full-time; they just don't hold up. Get yourself another charger and mount it to the wall like a ChargePoint Home Flex—I couldn't be happier with mine. It's got a decent app, it works like a champ, and the cable is lightweight and flexible (which means easy to use and plug in). If you have a grocery store near you with a Volta charger in the parking lot, go grab one of those handles and try to unfurl the cable and you'll see the opposite of what I mean.

Also, if you do road trip, download both PlugShare and ABRP (A Better Route Planner) for your pre-trip charging planning and you'll be happier overall than just relying on the Ford Navigation charging recommendations.

What did I buy that I probably would NOT recommend?

- I bought a TeslaTap for a few hundred dollars (60A) because I was scared by all of the "horrible DCFC infrastructure" articles and posts. This is totally dependent upon where you live and what you do with your car, but after a year, it's never left my glove box. They work only on Tesla Destination chargers, and in most areas, you're going to be able to find a Level 2 charger somewhere and that's going to be about as fast as a Tesla Destination charger with the TeslaTap. If you travel somewhere far, often, that has a lot of Tesla Destination chargers and few DCFC or Level 2 chargers, then yeah, sure, go ahead and get one. However, if you rarely road trip, or if your road trips are along well-placed DCFC routes, then you're really not going to need one.

- I bought the "EV Wash" briefcase kit with three different cleaners (interior, glass, and body) with associated towels to keep in the frunk and use when I was DCFCing to clean up bug guts or bird poop. It turns out I usually don't DCFC, and when I do, I'm almost done by the time I've gone to the bathroom and grabbed some food, so I found I just don't use it much. I keep different products for similar tasks in my home garage, and I end-up using those more often. I don't even carry it around with me anymore, because I just never go far enough to DCFC with the 270-300 mile range on the extended battery. The stuff in the case is fine, and if you are a heavy road-tripper then maybe I'd get it, but otherwise, no.

Great to know! I love sunroofs, personally. I'll keep the shade as insurance but I hope she likes it without.

I'll get those too!

Great charger advice. I installed an L2 EVSE a couple of weeks ago, and I'll keep the ford one in the trunk.

The do not buy list is extremely helpful as well.

Thanks for taking the time to post such a detailed response.

A Gotta Have is the device that keeps the charge port door from overopening and denting the car !
maybe I just don't understand or maybe ford fixed the issue in 2022, but I've tried overextending my charge port door and I can't make it get close to the body panel.

Yeah, Ford fixed the charger door issue. It was one of the first things I checked on ours. You could overextend it, but it would require so much force that a TPU thing wouldn't help either.

I got a lot of what you got, just some different manufacturers. I went with the WeatherTech back of seat protectors (https://www.weathertech.com/seat-back-protector/) and theOCDPlug.com makes great screen protectors (https://www.theocdplug.com/shop/p/mustang-mach-e-155). I like stuff made in the US, or at the least not made in China, so those are some options if that matters.

Pillar protectors are also a great idea. I added them to my F-150 because the shiny black plastic Ford insists on for the door pillars scratches so easy. I bought them for my wife's Mach-E as well.

https://www.theocdplug.com/shop/p/2021-ford-mach-e-pillar-protector-kit

I got a TeslaTap Mini as well from a sale on the forum here a while back. It lets you plug the Mach-E into Tesla Destination Chargers. Probably not needed if not road tripping the car, and may not be needed even if you are, but an idea anyway. I keep it with the mobile charging cord in her car. It's an insurance policy, some have never used theirs, and some have used it a lot. So this is a tough one to pull the trigger on especially for the price.

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=TeslaTap&ref=bl_dp_s_web_0

If your wife has a phone that has wireless charging and MagSafe or equivalent (like iPhone), this thing rocks. It's probably her favorite accessory.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JV6W1TC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

It says for Tesla, but it mounts perfectly to the Mach-E screen. The car has a wireless charger but it's a bit finicky. Magsafe type chargers seem to work every time, and it's a lot easy to just grab the phone at your destination when it's right there.

On that road tripping front, I bought a couple adapters too in case we someone hit a run of bad luck and need to charge at a camp ground or something to that effect. I suggest getting adapters at Menards or Home Depot though and not Amazon as the prices on them tend to be 2-3x what they are at menards. I think it's mainly just because they are generally not that expensive and it's mostly shipping.

My wife loves her Mach-E, hope yours does as well! You did exactly what I did on going all out on accessories. I had more stuff ready for when her car got here than when I got my F-150. Must be something about any Mustang, you just want to add some touches.

Oh! I forgot something. I have a Premium that has the normal black pedals. These metal pedal covers from AOSK are fantastic.

https://smile.amazon.com/Compatible...IjQuOTgifQ==&sprefix=AOSK,aps,68&sr=8-15&th=1

I didn't bother with or like the dead pedal plate, but the ones for the brake and the accelerator pedals are fantastic. Not only do they look better, but I found the accelerator pedal JUST too short for me in that my foot would often slip off when pressing it, but this cover adds exactly the right amount to the length that I've never had that trouble since. Plus, they look great and aren't garish at all.

All cars needs a hanging mirror ornament. Around here, every vehicle has some sort of decorative object hanging from the rear view mirror. It's a form of self expression. Be bold, be creative, show who you are. Don't just buy fuzzy dice, unless you really like them.
Be careful, this is illegal in some states as it obstructs your view. I haven't seen it heavily enforced though.

If you are planning to take longer trips. I highly recommend something like this. If you get caught with a bunch of dead bugs on the windscreen, it is key because you aren't stopping at gas stations that have them.

I've heard the same thing. Just wasn't able to find it in stock anywhere. I did find it on Etsy. It is 3D printed, but I'm pretty sure all of them are.

Ordered on Sept. 27, 2022. Awaiting delivery.
