Honestly, I was looking for a solution under $100. My current solution is <$50, worked fine on my BMW. I don't understand why Ford had to go out of their way to create a problem that didn't need to exist.
I have 3 bikes that I paid <$500. Not planning to keep the car longer than 6 months, so I don't see the value of spending money on a hitch, esp when I only plan to take the bikes out 3-4 times a year.

Can anyone recommend roof racks that go with the glass roof?
Can you explain how Ford went out of their way to create a problem that didn’t need to exist? What were you hoping they did? Why doesn’t your $50 rack work?

I agree it probably doesn’t make sense to spend a lot of money if you rarely need a rack and if you are getting rid of the car in 6 months. Maybe you can just rent a bike for that rare time where you’re traveling?

Im not an enthusiast. I dont want to spend money on a rack. That's like saying I spend $50k on a car , and another $100k on shipping it from dealer to home.
Anyways, any recommendations that are cheap? $100 or $200 tops?
This is a forum of enthusiasts who spent over 50k for a car and some of whom have already spent more on accessories/mods than you wish to spend on your rack and bikes.

Sorry, but you may be in the wrong forum for such advice.

Fine. But your question was asked and answered multiple times yet you complain here b/c it's not the answer you want.

What do you mean? A couple companies make roof racks that work with the
Mach E and a couple make hitches.

Go to Etrailer.com and put in the specs for your car and it will show your options.
I hate roof racks, not a legitimate solution to me. I'm mostly commenting on the lack of hitch really. I'm fine with just putting them in the car with the seats down though since it's usually just my wife and me and we only need to fit 2 bikes (which is the limit size wise). But sometimes since I go on big group rides and if I could have a 4 bike hitch rack I could help out a couple of my buddies fuel costs since it's "free" to me (I get free charging at our building) haha. I'm not too butthurt about it like the OP though, just a minor frustration.

Etrailer has three hitches for the Mach E. Stealth Hitch and Torklift also have ones that aren’t on Etrailer.

Do people seriously spend $500 on a bike rack? To me, thats insane, esp since I don't even bother $200-300 for a bike itself
Yes; when you have nice bikes and want more flexibility, you pay more.

We have a Kuat NV 2.0. We ride road and gravel alot, and the flexibility to bring the servicing mount attachment along is great. Makes OTG maintenance worth it.

For your situation, this would be overkill. One of those simple mill aluminum DIY-looking racks would be just fine - you still need a hitch installed, though.

This is my daily driver and I am only planning to keep the car 6 months at best. I have no plans on spending that kind of capital. I find it very surprising that something that has been there for decades cannot be done on this car.

I already tried folding the car rear seats down, bike doesn't fit. I need to put 3 bikes. What kind of solution is to remove the front wheel.
Let me get this right: you need to transport 3 bikes, plan to replace the vehicle in 6 months (so the solution may not fit the next one), and only need to carry bikes a couple of times a year? How about renting a van or big SUV a couple of times a year?

I think OP wanted a cheap, portable & "universal" trunk/hatch mount that fits *most* cars (but not all). A style like that might even work for me sometimes but I'm not going to complain that Ford didn't spec the MME for it. I mean, that's the role of after-market accessory vendors.

I still haven't gotten either a roof or hitch rack, tho. Most of my riding currently begins at the driveway.

Hi
I am looking for a cheap 3-bike rack for my Mach-E. Previously I just bought a cheap Allen rack for $50 from Walmart. It seems that won't fit. (like WTH). Anyways, all the threads show weird solutions (I don't know what a hitch is, I'm sorry, but it looks like it needs professional installation). Any recommendations for bike rack under $100? I don't need it that often, maybe a couple of times a year.
You need a saris bones 3 or bones 3 ex. Not sure which one would work but they are quality racks and are at $200 or less.

I would absolutely not cheap out on a bike rack, the expensive ones cost money for a reason, they are solid and don't skimp on quality.

Technically, one could come up with a million solutions. Im just baffled why a simple $50 rack doesn't fit on the mach-e (i've tried). Renting a larger vehicle is fine, but when you factor in: 20 mins drive to pick up a car, someone drives my car back, I drive the rental car, costs $50-100 every time and then same routine. I mean, thats again creating more headache. I'd rather not bike at all honestly.

I don't own a decent suit. In the last 8 years, I've only needed to wear a suit on 2 occasions. Why would I spend money on a quality suit then? Same situation applies here.
Im sure good bike racks are worth their money in gold. But considering Im going to use it 2-3 times over next 6 months, is spending that kinda capital worth it
