This was actually the second time I purchases a FDRS license to do my own updates. The first time was mainly to get me unstuck from the 1.7.1 issue. Once that was done, I started to received OTA updates all the way up to 2.8.1 which kept showing as failed. That's when I decided to buy another 48 hr FDRS license to finish the rest.

Knowing what I know now I would and will continue to do these updates myself when a major release comes out. If they do not come from OTA that is. I have all the equipment needed now, so spending $50 for 72 hr license is a no brainer for me. Way better than going to the dealership that's for sure.

I would still see if someone on here with a FDRS license can run your VIN. It will tell you what updates are still needed, and if you have to go back to the dealership can show them what they still need to finish.

Thanks,

Ken~

That's interesting - that you were able to update your car yourself that quickly. My dealer's tech said just APIM took 7 hours and, all told, they had my car for 3 days. The first time. I took it back for the hard reset last week for one more day, and now I'm told APIM needs to be updated again, so I have to take it back a 3rd time which will mean they'll have had my car for at least 6 days (provided this last update finishes in one day)

I'm pretty convinced this will be the last Ford I'll ever own, and I bought this one reluctantly, as well.
They say that it takes that long so they have an excuse for them sitting on it for a couple days while they deal with other customers (specifically, ICE ones).

Ford can pretend all they want, but these service departments openly hate the Mach E and not just because it's difficult to work with, but because they admittedly hate electric vehicles.

Same issue for me. Unfortunately, this marks the second occasion that mine has been in service for at least a month (the first time- within a week of purchase- I almost pulled the trigger on the buyback and I'm now beginning to regret that I didn't- although my wife's Mach-E (also Job 1) has been nearly flawless so far). The service manager (at All-American in Paramus) just told me that the software and modules show as fully updated, but there's no BlueCruise subscription start date and the instrument cluster hasn't updated (not even sure what that means - presumably the BC associated graphical indicators?), and although they think that one or more APIMs need to be updated, "they're not sure" what the issue is or how to fix it (which doesn't really instill me with a lot of confidence). Mine would not update OTA past 2.1.0, so I took it in for the dealer-installed updates, and that's where we're stuck, apparently. If anyone from Ford support happens to be monitoring this topic and can help, I'd surely appreciate it- I'm about at my wits' end...
