Another Law Enforcement Mach-E GT Ordered

Unfortunately, the glass roof is now standard on the GT, which makes a metal roof GT or GT-PE unobtanium. The only way to get a GT with a metal roof now is to find a 2021 that was not optioned with the metal roof. This is why I voted “no” in the poll asking if I would buy the same car again. I’m not giving up my metal roof. ??

So does the GT Model have a different "Body" than the other models of the Mach E? You cant use a Mach E body without a moonroof to make a GT? I thought the main difference with the GT verses other models was the battery.

Same body, they just removed the ability it order a GT or GT-PE without the glass roof. Plain dumb to me to make the performance version heavy. ?‍?

The battery is the same for all cars with the Extended Battery. The major difference between the AWD MMEs with the Extended Battery and the GT/GT-PE is the front motor (bigger motor on the GTs) and the springs, shocks, and anti-sway bars. ??

I just checked Fords website and you are correct in that the panoramic sunroof is standard on all GT's. I could not even find a way to delete it from an order. I think this may be the reason we haven't heard anything about our GT order since December 2022. Thanks for the information.

Is Ford making a law enforcement version of the GT that does not include the glass roof? I have not seen that anywhere, but I suppose it is possible. That might be why your order is taking longer also.

I don't think Ford is making GT's strictly for Law Enforcement. The GT's that I know of for LEO were purchased prior to the 2023 model year and available to order without the glass sunroof option.

Hello All,

I am a Deputy Sheriff for the Howard County Sheriffs Office in Ellicott City Maryland. I am the Fleet Coordinator & Quartermaster for the Sheriffs Office, I'm a car guy. I have been lurking on this Forum for weeks and only joined recently when our order for the Mach-E GT was placed on 10/12/2022. We placed a Government order with Ford for two black 2023 Mustang Mach-E GT with the extended range battery, just like the NYPD model. Our Police Department will get one of the Mach-E and I will be assigned the other Mach-E GT. We aren't expecting the vehicles to be delivered to us before the middle 2023.

Howard County Maryland is the first County/City in the Country to achieve Platinum under LEEDS v4.1 and the our Howard County Courthouse is Gold under Leeds. The Howard County Courthouse is a new building that has 16 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations available for use along with an abundance of charging stations placed at other Government Buildings, County Parks, County Recreation Centers and throughout the entire county.

In my current position at the Sheriffs Office, Fleet Coordinator, I drive a 2021 Ford Explorer Hybrid Police Interceptor. I checked all of the boxes when our Office of Sustainability came looking for a "Test Pilot" for the Mach-E GT. We had a 2012 Nissan Leaf in our Fleet which was turned in for replacement in 2021. The 2023 Mach-E GT was picked for to replace the Nissan Leaf (Only for Law Enforcement) for many different reasons, short commute and having easy access to a workplace chargers.

I have learned a lot about the Mach-E from all of you on this Forum and will now become more engaged, when I can. Thanks!!
