My 10/21 Mach-GT has no active recall on it (per Ford Vin checker).
I got about 6k miles on it, mostly trips to work (26miles highway).
Other than 2 dings from delivery and then back-up brake assist not working, the car has been trouble free.

Charging only at home with a 10kw Lvl2 charger.

Thinking of doing a 200M road trip (using a DCFC) and wondering if there is any way to think of likelihood of a HVBJB issue coming up?

5000 mi. On our GTPE , recently took a 500 mi. Trip in 103 heat, DCFC charging once both directions. Ran air conditioner, drove between 65 to 80 mph.…of course You have to have air in that heat. Was worried also.

our Cheeto was a champ, and did as well as expected, (as in all decent cars). Glad I got through that!

my car (as well as others) have had great performance in heated situations, so no one really knows why some luck out. Ford doesn’t have that answer either. Some people had no rhyme or reason for failure.

best wishes and have fun. Bring water;)

No one can predict if/when it will happen.

Recalls won't show in FordPass until probably next week.

200 mile drive is nothing. Enjoy!

^^^ Rick and I seem to agree a lot. ?

I have about 12,000 miles on my GT. I do not drive it softly at all, with WOTs at stoplights and on-ramps. I DCFC on trips and I do not do anything special like let the car cool before or after a DCFC. No way. I want to charge and go, and the car is designed to do that.

The failure rate is very, very low. The only change I recommend you consider is avoiding WOT when the car is hot, like after a long drive or after a DCFC. Heat is what is melting the contactors, and WOT is the most stressful thing you can do to a contactor.

That is all I do, and that is easy. I mean if you want you can do as many WOTs whenever you feel like it, but that will increase your chances of failure. Just do all the WOTs near a Ford dealership that is EV certified. Then go for it!

Not a dumb question at all. I just figured out that acronym recently myself. Well, another forum member told me.

It’s not a throttle anymore is it though... WOT = Wide Open Transistors now?
Oxford Dictionary:

throt·tle
/ˈTHrädl/
noun
1. a device controlling the flow of fuel or power to an engine.
____

"Or power."

Still a Throttle. Or an accelerator pedal. Or a gas pedal. It really doesn't matter. ;)
