My car has been at the dealer since June 19 waiting for a new APIM to arrive. Previous one couldn’t accept any software updates either OTA or at the dealer so I was running almost original software (car purchased January 2021 last software update June 2021). I’m in contact with both the dealer and Ford customer service every week, and last I was told Ford has the part but engineers have not been successful programming it. Our dealer has 2 other Mach e waiting for the same thing to hopefully solve the software problems. Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s now been 15 weeks without my car and I will be contacting attorneys this week to (hopefully) advance the matter further since Ford is less than helpful during my weekly phone call. Any advice on how to get actual answers as to how long I should expect to wait for this?

Why did the dealer have to keep your car the whole time? Couldn't you just drive around with the older software until they got the part in?

I was told by dealer in June that they tried to update the orginal APIM, that failed and the car doesn’t have any nav, no bluetooth or WiFi, no hvac, big screen is black. It can be driven, but nothing else functions so I wasn’t willing to accept the car back in that condition.

Yeah, that would be a good reason.

I waited for about 6 weeks... for the first one they sent. When installing, they discovered it was for the wrong car. Waited another 5 weeks for next one. Second one worked. BTW - thankfully, I did not have to leave my car for the duration.

Once I know what an APIM is, I’ll undoubtedly be waiting anxiously.

That's crazy, sorry you're dealing with this.
