I have a '22 MME Premium 4wd w/ 15,500 miles, and 13 months left on a 3-year lease. As with any car there are pros and cons. The pros:
1. GREAT driving car, around town, on the freeway or curvy roads. One of the best I ever owned.
2. Interior space and storage are very good.
3. Decent efficiency - as advertised - though I wish it was better

The Cons:
1. Buggy software, especially in cold weather. Most of the glitches are not major but create annoyances that are too frequent. In fairness: a friend has the 2023 model (same options) and he has had few of the problems I've had. I also have a 2024 Model Y an have had zero software issues with it.
2. I had the control module replaced last month under recall and since then the one-pedal driving feature stops working while driving. That is incredibly unsafe. The dealer said Ford is working on a software fix but I suspect that could take months. In the meantime I was advised to shut off OPD - which I love using - until the fix is done.
3. Depreciation: this isn't specific to the MME but its crazy how much value the car has lost. Fortunately its a lease and I can give it back next year.
4. The eyeglass holder in the middle of the headliner keeps breaking and I'm now waiting for my third replacement. It is held in place by a tiny/skinny/flimsy plastic pin which is practically designed to break. What a stupid, crappy design. May seem like a minor issue to some but I use it a lot and its really annoying having to leave it in the "down" position. Note: the service tech told me this has been a problem in other models so its a Ford-wide problem.

I would consider buying an MME again if:
1. The price/deal are right - I paid MSRP 2 years ago
2. I am convinced that the software glitches are mostly solved and
3. Efficiency and range are improved, which appears to be the case on the latest models

Of course it depends on what else is out there. When I bought it the only cars I considered were the MME and Model Y, and I ended up getting one of each.

Let me know what you think!

I enjoy my '21 MME Premium 4x ER but Ford's tech has really put me off. The website, FordPass App and Sync in the car feel cobbled together, amateurish and buggy. A company this old and this large should have a smooth consistent experience across all its tech offerings.

I have a 2022 premium extended for about a year and half now. Save for the usual software glitches, slow response touch screen, etc, mine has been pretty trouble free. That said, I feel like the HVBJB issue, although I've not experienced it yet, is like the sword of Damacles hanging over my head. I plan on keeping it for 3-5 years I think. But I'd be pretty interested in the new mid-sized Rivian R2 to replace the Mach-e.

(I spoke to one of the Rivian senior engineers at a charge station, and he is confident they will have a 600 mile truck by 2026.)
Some random dude said they will nearly double the range in the next two years? Any specifics on how they would do that?

Going to drive mine as long as possible, then make a decision then. Love most things about the car, but there are so many other options out there now, and more coming. Honestly looking hardest at the possibility of a Canoo.

Double the battery size.

Being a newbie to EV’s, If I ever got away from the Mustang , I’m not sure but I think I would still like to go Electric. So I was looking at all the current ones that are out there as far as looks & price, and to tell you the truth, I would lean towards Hyundai IONIQ 6! Sporty and you can go up and down the different packages and still stay in the 40s. Opinions, because being retired I’m not ready to go out and spend 80,000 or another 70,000 on the vehicle. stuff

I have almost exactly the same sentiments. We have a 21 Premium AWD ER and have had zero problems. Like others, we have a seven year, 125,000 extended warranty. So, the plan is to keep it at least through that time. Periodically, the mirror refuses to fold and my wife cannot avoid getting small dents in the vehicle. Still, it is comfortable (except on bad roads where it is bouncy) somewhat and looks great. Our iX was awesome, but it was in the shop on different things three times in the year we had and cargo space was terrible for the size of that vehicle. Our R1S is great but the air suspension is terrible. It is probably great for off-roading and water fording, which I rarely (think never) get to do other than when we have a downpour. Still, would I get another MME in a few years maybe when it is around eight or ten years old? It really depends on what else is out there. If we were to get a new EV now or in the next year, I would probably go with a Lyric (if it eventually gets Magnetic Ride), Porsche Macan EV or the Land Rover EV (depends on cost) when they come out. If we are talking about the same price range as the MME, I probably would not get anything in the $50k range right now because nothing is all that appealing (Model Y - meh, MME - mmh, Polestar - meh, XC40 - no, Q4 etron - no, EV6 - no thanks, Ioniq5 - nope, Niro - no thank you).

The Lyriq would be a good choice. I would think if I started from no cars in the garage, I'd buy a GV60 as I prefer a smaller EV for around town. Maybe a MINI Countryman EV as that is pretty large for a MINI and the interior is BMW premium.

I think I would be ready to ditch my gas SUV once the Rivian R2 arrives. Good size and price. The Jeep Wagoneer S is perfect spec wise but it's just another overpriced Stellantis product. I tell everybody to avoid Jeeps except for the Wrangler...with the Pentastar (skip the turbo and PHEV)... and only if you want to off road.

I can definitely see myself upgrading to a GT in a couple years. The improvements for the MY24 are nice enough for me to consider an early trade.

That said, I'm very much interested in the upcoming Rivian R2 and R3. Also, there are a few ICE cars that I would still love to own.

I think it's too soon to say with any certainty right now, but I've been happy with my Mach-E so far. We'll just have to wait and see how things hash out.

Would need to see what’s on the market when I want to buy. Would like to see more features like ventilated seats built in dashcam and the blind spot cameras when you use the turn signal like the kia/hyundais. Don’t care much if they lower the 0-60 time more.

I traded in* a perfectly good 2010 Prius in December of 2018, solely because of the new safety features on the RAV4**, they were kludgy, but worked. Five years later, all of those features had greatly improved, and Consumer Reports particularly liked the GM and Ford versions. Those features and their improvements are obvious on my '23 MME. The price was right. Six months later I have experienced no issues, other than my condo Wall Box, car, and iPhone do not play well together half the time.

I am hoping that Ford can update all of those features as improvements come along. What could move me to buy another car when I payoff this one's zero interest loan in 2028 is Ford failing to do this. I suspect by then Toyota will have top notch EVs with top notch software. People my age (84) quit driving after a serious or moderate accident, I will not hesitate to trade my current car in if another better, safer car is available.

*bought it used and 'Certified'. Turned out a gig driver had turned the odometer back about 65,000 miles. I eventually got a satisfactory offer from the Olympia dealership.

** total maintenance costs over 5 years: 3 synthetic oil changes (the first two were included in purchase price). I don't believe that EVs are cheaper to maintain.

It's a good car (21 Job 2 AWD Select), but in 30 something years of driving I have never bought the same make/model twice in a row, I would rather try something completely different.

I like my Mach-e but if I were to buy something I think it would be a hybrid. The state of the changing networks (lots of broken chargers and lines waiting to charge) and the length of time to charge, even on the fast chargers makes it a real pain on longer trips.

I've owned numerous Teslas and about 2 dozen ICE vehicles in my day. Picked up my 2024 Eruption Green Premium AWD ER on Friday. Being used to Teslas, there are things that are better and things that are worse.

I also have a 2023 Super Duty gasser, so my use case and experiences are different than some I'm sure. Also have a big solar array at home and live 20 miles out of town.

Mach E vs Tesla 3/Y.. Mach E is better in these ways:

1. Has a sunglasses holder
2. Has built in homelink
3. FAR quieter inside
4. More comfortable ride
5. Carplay/AA support
6. AM Radio
7. SiriusXM support
8. Much better looking

Tesla is better in these ways:

1. Charging network
2. Software
3. Faster
4. Better integration with Tesla powerwalls at home
5. Much more control over charging/battery conditioning/etc
6. Better/smoother braking/regen blending
