I scanned through all 8 pages in hopes that someone would have a tip on how to remove the stupid blue circle from the main screen. Sigh.

If anyone does figure out how to do so (@Ford Motor Company), please post it in a new thread with a crystal clear title such as How to Remove Alexa.

Thanks

Thank you!

That sounds great. Could you possibly take a photo of that screen? That would be really great.

Do you know if Dolby Atmos works?

Thanks again and have a great day.
Anyone?

It seems @Ford Motor Company has tied it to the connected services, meaning in order to use your remote start you’re required to always have an Amazon logo on your car. I’m disabling connected services. Super stupid decision to not allow users to disable the feature, regardless of whatever Amazon I’m sure wants them to do.

even worse, they won’t even let you cancel it without logging into the god-awful website and finding whatever service they auto-signed you up for without explicit consent. What an embarrassing mess. So much for any of my money ever going towards their services again.

Someone was able to get a picture of Alexa's physical form, but her hair mostly obscures her face. She might appear in random MME's when the blue ring is displayed.

My 2022, delivered April 20th, had the logo. After setting up my profile and doing what I though was setting up Alexa, that logo is now gone. Idk what caused it to go away and I haven’t used Alexa in the car yet. After reading this post, next time I get a chance I’ll see if I can figure anything out.

You figured out how to delete her! Now if you could only document those steps, many of us want her gone. Or don't want her appearing in our car, hair over the face and all.

Kinda hilarious you have to set up a profile to get rid of logo you guys hate.
You know if you set up a profile then Dun Dunn DUUNNNN. Amazon will have all your data, kill your cat, and run off with your significant other.

Alexa will slink out the car and kill your cat, so it isn't really Amazon doing it. She has a mind of her own and it is singularly focused on killing your cat. And then the rest of your family, of course.

But seriously, I don't do business with Amazon and I don't want anything from them in my car. It offends me I have no choice and will have to be reminded of them every time I look at the display. One day. I have not received her via OTA yet.

The Alexa logo is easy to remove, you need to link it to your Amazon account (go through setup) then immediately sign out. The logo will disappear and you are signed out. Probably a crummy data mining move but at least the logo is gone.

Do you have any idea whether or not once you're signed out Amazon still gets data from your car?

I don't have the Alexa icon on my Sync 4 screen. The car was just updated to Blue Cruise at the dealer (21G01). So many seem to hate Alexa that it's no big deal if I don't get it but I am curious as to when it appeared on the Sync screen.

I don’t why all you weirdos are afraid Alexa is spying on you…you just allow ford to track every move, do you think the ford network is more secure? Then you have CarPlay with Siri listening to you or android with Google listening to you. I tried the whole secure thing and privacy thing with apple not allowing apps to track you and I ended up with the stupidest annoying ads…I use to get targeted ads that were of interest, now I get the same stupid zombie games or other useless ads. I don’t see what’s wrong with ads reminding you that you were looking at a product that you were thinking of buying…it’s either no ads or targeted ads for me. If you’re so paranoid, don’t have any tech with you cause everything is tracking you.

McFly, it isn't about tracking. I have accepted the fact that many entities track my movements. I just don't like unknown people listening to my conversations. That to me is a huge invasion of privacy.

Of course the standard response is "nobody is really listening", but the device is listening and waiting for you to say her name. I am not wiling to accept that a device that is listening and recording my conversations has no capability to provide those recordings to a human who may or may not like what I am saying. I don't want it at all, and I don't want it to be forced on me.

Not only that, I don't do business with Amazon, and I want to have a choice whether or not Amazon is in my car.
