apple maps started auto routing

Just after we figure out how to get the Ford navigation to stop routing us to the grocery store 5 miles up the street, her Apple maps started doing.
Not sure if it was because it was the phone was plugged in to charge, or it just decided to piss her off.

I know many of you have apples, how can she get this to stop? she never uses apple maps anyway, she always uses google maps If she needs navigation.

she is really starting to hate the electronics in this car. Just the other day we got the Tesla charger update. next day she started the car and went to grocery store. (yes the one the car used to route her to). When she got back in she turned car on and the stereo went BANG and radio screen turned on but no sound came out. she had turn car off, open door, restart car and stereo started working.

Oh, today I noticed she had 35% charge, but when I plugged it in she only had 1 light on the round indicator. I thought that first light was for 0-20% charge?

For Apple Maps, you need to disable Siri suggestions in Settings, Maps, Siri & Search. You may want to give Apple Maps a try as it integrates with the Mach-E, giving you destination SOC and upcoming turns in the instrument cluster.

In Ford Navigation, the setting is under the tools icon, Settings, User Data, Destination Suggestions

Also, in the phone, in Settings, CarPlay, you can remove Maps from the CarPlay display.

And, with Siri, you can say "Ask Google Maps for directions to..." and it'll use that instead of Apple's Maps program.

Edit: Maps has proposed offering a route home sometimes, but has never automatically started routing me anywhere. I'm not sure what's up with that.

its happened every time she plugs in the phone to charge since we got that last update which was marked for the Tesla charger. Never before. And yes we know there is a wireless charger but it works faster to plug it in so its not the first time its been plugged in.

I am having the same problem all of a sudden, except it isn't Apple Maps that is directing me, it's something else that I haven't requested. I do to Siri or Alexa to cancel navigation and it tells me I'm not navigating in Apple Car Play. It's driving me CRAZY, as I drive about 50 miles one way and every exit it tells me to exit and make a uturn. Frustrating! Help!

our first problem was ford nav all of a sudden decided it needed to navigate us to to our most common destination every time she starts the car (5 miles away)
to fix that open ford map, there is a gear, look in there for turning off predictive navigation.
Than every time there is an update you may have to look to see if ford decided your really do want this and they turned it back on for you. don't forget to press the number button on the door and hold until it beeps to save that setting to your profile.

That sounds like the built in nav.
Open the navigation app in the car and go to its settings, user data, and disable the predictive destination, or whatever it’s called.

I’m not surprised TBH I think the latest software update either broke or disabled things that we had turned on or off. I noticed my personal profile is completely missing now so all of my seat adjustments, etc. etc. etc. are gone.
