The car audio would only come through the center front speaker.

I saw this post https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/left-audio-not-working.33021/

thinking my problem could be related.

Nothing I tried fixed it so I now have it with the dealer. I’m hoping they’ll be able to hook it up to forscan or whatever and just check if some update didn’t apply correctly.

We’ll see how long that takes, they also have ordered a part for the driver door so that it opens / behaves correctly and the rear driver door has a similar issue but I only have the video on my phone as proof… every time I’m at the dealership and try to reproduce it the actuator fully extends as expected.

they’ve also ordered the high voltage part for the recall.

Just a follow up here,

I just got off the phone with the service manager and he tried to tell me his technician deemed the high voltage recall the most important thing to look at and so was waiting on the other items, I told him that really only has to do with dc fast charging (am I wrong?!) and that in the mean time I’d appreciate it if they’d get it hooked up to FDRS or forscan or whatever and apply any updates as I could be using and enjoying my car while they wait on whatever high voltage part!!

I can completely understand when some people who say this is their first ford and may be there last are frustrated with this as I have no clue why it’s such a tough task to fix or at least attempt to fix some items that are currently preventing from using my car.

I asked him to get the other stuff looked at and done and if he can’t let me know and I’ll come pick up my car and take it elsewhere for service.

These are the current issues, after about 22 months with nothing to speak of… and honestly I’m still saving for my balloon payment but will likely turn this car back in after this service experience and potential for reoccurrence for some of these issues:

1. Driver side door actuator occasionally stays extended and does not retract. Dash showed “Door fault Service required” this kicked off the first service visit… 2/28/24. They ordered the door part and then I heard nothing back from them, never ordered the high voltage part

2. Driver side rear door actuator occasionally does not extend, 4 year old child must use fingers to carefully peel open door. Hard to replicate this in front of them, I have a video I’ve showed them.

3. radio audio is only coming from center speaker. This is all the time, B&O = P&U... This kicked off another service visit scheduled for 4/8, but after calling and complaining that I hadn't heard back in over a month the service manager suggested I could bring it in on 4/2... but to just sit up there and not be scanned??!?

4. high voltage recall. Least of my concerns but definitely should be done.

I have no car right now. None. How is this worth my monthly payment for insurance and a car payment?

I have an intermittent issue with my speakers....

On start sound seems to only come from center speaker, although if you lean towards the left [or passenger leans to right] there is some volume coming from the outboard speakers. Rebooting Sync with steering wheel buttons sometimes will 'reset' to normal behavior, although often even multiple reboots are not successful. Going into the Sound Settings while this is ongoing I will not able to move the sound location around the cabin as one typically can.

Everything [so far] will typically be fine on restart after having shut the car down completely at my destination.

This could be a CarPlay issue as I boot into CarPlay by default, so have only seen it happen with CarPlay engaged. Recently I have thought to switch into FM radio while this is happening, which seems to always result in the speakers playing normally. Switching back to CarPlay reverts to the poor sound.

Service manager called today and offered me a loner, I guess they’ll be working on the car now for the above items…

My issue with the speaker I thought was related to CarPlay as well, however I removed both phones from the car, reset sync, nothing fixed the issue for the center speaker except for the very first time I attempted that with just my phone and then it reverted to only the center again when I tried to demonstrate it was working again for my wife.

With no phones connected or known to the car at all, FM radio only comes through the center front speaker, I confirmed by using the mixer and attempting to get any other speaker to produce sound. No dice.

My hope is, it’s just some OTA software update that went awry… my fear is if this had happened outside of warranty mode (remember 22 months absolutely no problems to speak of) I’d be on the hook for some service and scared what that might cost.

Not to mention a door not opening would be a pretty crappy thing to have to pay for out of pocket out of warranty.

I have some decisions to make come ballon payment time.

After the latest update I had to reset the balance on our speakers and they've been fine ever since resetting.

Followed up with the dearship yesterday - left voicemail, also the customer care department, left voicemail... Customer care has gotten back with me today and she is reaching out to the dearlship on my behalf. When the service department booked the loaner vehicle through the beginning of May I thought they were over doing it... it appears it may have actually been just CYA.

I experienced this issue for the first time on a road trip recently. It seemed to be correlated to the voice prompts for navigation. It is as though the system thinks it needs to do a voice prompt, so it mutes all but the center speaker, but no nav prompt is forthcoming. Eventually, it went back to normal. Happened 2 or three times on my trip. I haven't had it happen otherwise.

so parts are a problem for this dearlship to obtain, apparently there was some type of fire at their distributor or something along those lines... they're still waiting on some part, not exactly sure which one. For anyone that has done this recall on the high voltage deal, was it a lot of waiting for you as well? I think that is the part they are waiting on, the customer care person refers to it as a battery junction box or something along those lines.

I am so glad I found this post, I thought it was just me. It is so annoying and makes the B&O speakers sound horrible.

I just got my MME 10 days ago. I listen to all kinds of things, rock music, podcasts, etc.

The audio is prevalent over the center speaker. and it sounds like it is already blown or worn out. Not the quality or experience i would expect from B&O or my MME.

Pretty disappointed.

Yup so just a follow up,

the recall was completed, they’ve done what they needed to for the doors not plunging or staying plunged…

they replaced an audio module (techs words, not mine) and whatever code or whatever still said it was the audio module at fault.

they have some field tech that is supposed to be there this week and they already ordered a 2nd audio module thing, they are expecting between those two things that it will be resolved sooner than later.

This is my first Ford. I’ve had one car payment leave my bank account since this all happened, I’ve put about $120.00 in loaner vehicle gas, not to mention a few fill ups of my vehicle which usually just sits here at home with me while the wife takes the Mach-e to work, but is now being driven by my wife since the loaner is only in my name…

The customer service rep let me know Ford may be able to reimburse me for the gas in the rental if I saved receipts (I didn’t) but couldn’t do anything about my car payment because they are paying for the loaner.

This is by far the longest I’ve ever had any vehicle I’ve ever owned in a shop. Nissan, nope… Honda, nuh uh… heck even Volkswagen… Volkswagen!! (Seriously that car had some challenges in FL weather but still was only ever at the dealership 48 hours at most)

Long story short I’m just waiting to get my car back, trying not to drive the loaner and as soon as I can get an itemized list of all that they did to the car showing how much it all would have cost outside of the warranty, I think I’m going to have sticker shock. YMMV and hopefully does.

I have the same problem in my car. Audio only through the front center speaker.
