Red River Ford in Arkansas gave me a price of 73,500 for a 2022 GTPE. I found the vehicle on autotrader and selected for the dealership to contact me. I was contacted by Michael Tarrants through text and was told that the vehicle was available for sale. I then asked for a out the door price along with a window sticker photo. I received a text. (see attachment) I then called Michael to confirm price. Price of 73,500 before tax was confirmed. I live out of state and asked him to get me a shipping quote and call me back with a total price including sales tax for the state I live in. I received a call a short time later telling me that management has decided to add a 10k markup (see attachment of transcribed voicemail) on the agreed upon price. I then called and asked to speak with a manager and was essentially told too bad too sad we are adding 10k onto the agreed upon price.
This was beyond frustrating. I have been searching for some time for this car and to finally find one with no markup and then for them to pull a bait and switch like this is flat out wrong. There's nothing that I can do, but I wanted to share this to others as a cautionary tale.
