You must be referring to this lovely bug that I've been talking about for a while now:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...rivian-r1t-owner-comparison.28728/post-655750

Not only does it do this with volume change but it also does this static pop out of nowhere. I think I have videos of that too.

Ford is aware of it and they have been able to replicate it. They are pulling logs from vehicles in order to find a solution from my understanding. It might get fixed in 2029 of we are lucky.
I will be 77 by then and will be totally deaf and therefore the Loud and I mean loud sound won’t bother me anymore

My '22 MME is almost 6 months old and there was a very load bang about 2-3 months ago just after starting it. I thought something had hit the car! I got out and inspected it but no damage anywhere, nothing! Got back in and started driving home and it was then I noticed the radio was off which was strange. I turned it on but it was silent. The volume was zero but when I increased it, it was complete static on every band...AM, FM, SiriusXM. I got home, parked, turned it off and went to bed prepared to have to arrange a service visit. The next day the radio resumed working normally and it never happened again. It certainly gave me a new perspective on the name Bang and Olufsen!

2022, Mach E, extended battery.

Wife got in the car this morning, upon hitting the start up button, there was a very loud bang, followed by static (much like the old transistor radios), she was so startled she jumped out of the car after turning it off. Tried 4 more times, hoping is would solve issue, while no bang, the static continued on each start up. Waited an hour, and it started up fine, no issues.

Anyone have a similar experience? Car worked fine the previous day, did no charge overnight, and no software updates. A bit disconcerting, to say the least.

Called our dealer, got an appointment for next week. At this point she's a bit leery to get in car. Wish I had a video but do not.

Appreciate any comments. Thanks
This happened to me once, randomly. It was a few months ago. Hasn’t happened again. I think it was just a glitch. Doubt they will be able to do anything at a service appointment.

Had it on our 21 Premium E4X. First time was in snow, and I thought I got hit by a snowball. Sounded like one hit the quarter panel. Did it several more times that day, next day all OK. Happened several more times and the volume control generated the static but no radio. Went in for service and the tech said there was an update to resolve it, have not had it since. However, often the radio display on startup will display stations that are not programmed yet the correct stations are under the icons.

Probably right
Today was my lucky day…I got it again. This time, since it wasn’t a shock, I paid more attention to it. I turned the car off then back on. I rebooted the infotainment system(vol down and forward arrow). Neither did anything to resolve the issue. Radio didn’t work in SXM/Am/FM. Car play connected, I could make a call. I then tried to stream Apple Music through my phone, there was a delay but then it played. I stopped it, and everything was normal again. The whole thing lasted 3-4 minutes. Not sure if connecting to my phone had anything to do with it, or if it just happened to clear at the same time.

Encountered this tonight. Restart didn't fix it but I walked away for 10-15mins and restarted the car and the next time the static pops were gone.

I was always worried the audio system blew lol.

Yep. The car needs to go to totally power down to reset this weird error. I think it takes five minutes.

Owned mine for a year and and a half, had this happen 3 times now. Very loud bang, or crack sound at startup then silent radio. Turn the car off for a while and all is well again. (until the next time). Annoying.
