Hi all,

Long-time reader, first time poster.

My in-laws 13 month-old Mach-e started getting the "electrical system drain service required" message 3 weeks ago. They received the message 3 more times, and on the third time yesterday the vehicle went into deep sleep mode.

I'm trying to help them avoid a dealer debacle:
  1. Do you know of a good Mach-e dealer in NY's Hudson valley or Westchester?
  2. Is there anything I can and should do to help the dealer with the diagnosis? (I will be with the car this week, so could buy an OBD device for example)

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

My dealer has been very good. They handled all of the NYC police department GT purchases. Over 100 cars for that alone.

Schultz Ford in Nanuet Rockland County .

that is a tour de force explainer!

Nothing changed over the last month. The car is driven regularly and doesn’t have any electrical draws.

I will check the battery voltage when I’m up there.

A quick follow-up on this. Our new EVSE may have caused this low-voltage issue. It's a Grizzl-e dual cord charger that we just started using. We swapped it out and haven't gotten the error since. We're going to swap it back in in a few weeks and see if the error returns.

It's almost certainly the Grizzl-e charger. We stopped using it for a month and got no errors. On the first day we tried it again we got the error.

So -- be aware that a charger can cause this battery drain alert.

Thanks for posting back. Charge faults from a bad EVSE is on my 12V drain list. I've heard of a handful of bad Grizzle-E chargers lately causing these issues.
