Lately I've noticed a few times when starting the car the screen is either blank or frozen. Sometimes it will reboot itself, other times I need to restart the vehicle. Has anyone else experienced this? It is annoying right now, so I wasn't running to schedule a service appointment, but planned to note it when I bring the car in next. Is this due to a software update? Colder weather (in the northeast)?

I've had my Mach E for about a month and a half and we started having the same issue a couple of weeks ago. Then it stopped doing it. The wife compared the car to a cell phone. Where it has glitches here and there that end up working themselves out eventually, but can be annoying if they happen consistently.

I think there are software bugs at play, replacing the computer probably won't help. We need Ford to fix their software first.

In the meantime, when the center display freezes right after starting the car, you can either wait it out -- it will restart by itself within 90 seconds, or you can tell it to restart right away.

To tell the computer driving the center display to reset, hold the volume down and next track buttons on the steering wheel for several seconds.

Just in case you don’t know this. You can reboot just the screen by holding volume down and next track for 10 seconds, if that happens when you’re driving.

Hello there. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look into your screen concerns on my end.

Had it yesterday, only the one time.
I went straight for reboot (after restart attempt) and it fixed it.

This happens to me every once in a while. Always in the morning (not that cold, it’s CA, after all). It’s very annoying, but I did not know about the above mentioned reboot technique. Incidentally, I had the dealership check into it the last time I was in for service. They found nothing.

This has been an onging issue for me. I've only had the car for a month. When I left for work it was 50 degrees outside, so I had the heat going. When I got off work it was 85, and that's when the screen was stuck dark, and rebooting sync didn't do a thing. So I drove home in the heat. I took it to the dealer They did a software update, and the issue still occurs. I don't know what to do at this point because it doesn't happen on every boot. But when It does, it's no where near acceptable, as I live in a place where I NEED to be able to control my HVAC system.

Brand New 2024 Mach-E < 1,000 miles on it and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) died. Dealer replaced (had to take the entire dash out) I picked it up and now the screen locks up intermittently and will Ford SNYC will not hold preference settings - drive mode, heat / cool settings etc.. This is my first Ford product and I have been to dealer for service 3 times in 6 weeks - anyone else having these issues with new Mach-E?

Just happened to my Bro’s. Any resolution? He’s got the same exact issue as you with no luck on the soft reset holding the down/over.

Update: He unplugged the 12v and reconnected it which fixed the issue. He says he is going to be keeping a 10mm wrench in the frunk from now on :)
