Blue oval charge network not working

So we activated the blue oval charge network for the free 2 year subscription and 250kw of free charge. Went to use it and it said “card declined” or “machine malfunction” could use the same card to pay the rate on the machine and the same charger and it worked just fine. Tried the next day and still the plug and charge and the blue oval network didn’t work. Called ford and after 30 min on the phone it was “we don’t know why it’s not working. Try deactivating and reactivating”. Deactivated it and then reactivated it and it’s still not approved and still not working. Anyone have any ideas of how to get it to work?

Did you activate it both in FordPass and on the Ford website (Connected Services)?

There's a toggle switch in FordPass to turn it on. Vehicle >> Charging >> Blue Oval Charge Network >> Plug & Charge

Hmmm. You didn't specifically mention it but I'm assuming this was at an Electrify America location.

If you want to use your free EA kWh you can just activate the charger via FordPass and skip the Plug & Charge.

It was at an electrify America location. But I didNT have the check mark or the electrify America icon on my ford pass. I told the lady on customer support and she said that didn’t matter. I only had the shell icon on my FordPass

FYI, plug & charge never works for me, I go through the FordPass app, select charging, Blue Oval network, view chargers, select the one I’m at, plug the MME into the EA charger, click Activate on the FordPass app and charging begins.

Maybe you did connected services with an expired credit card. Verify that the default credit card is correct in ford.com/connectedservices. Unless there is a valid card the connected services and 250 kWh bundle won’t work.

ours wouldn’t work that way either. I don’t know what is wrong.

My experience has been that anything to do with connected services takes a few days to actually work. Slow electrons I guess. Then, poof, it works.

ours wouldn’t work that way either. I don’t know what is wrong.
it appears that Connected Services isn’t Activated. Try to enroll again.

I tried enrolling again and it says it’s waiting to be approved.
That’s odd, it should be immediate.

Call Ford on the phone. Have them walk you through the Connected Services activation. I had them help when I enrolled,

In my case the Activate button was greyed out because I was missing the default credit card.

Is it possible you’re a new owner and the VIN is still assigned to the dealer? Again ask Ford to help you get Connected Services for the charging network activated. Don’t discuss plug & charge or the missing Electrify America on the app because they don’t understand. If they get connected services to activate, the other things will work.
