I follow you. It took me awhile to get used to it. BC seems to want to center the driver in the lane (car towards right side of lane). This has gotten less noticeable over time, but maybe that's because I find myself in the center lane more often these days... trying to stay under 75 (the need to watch my efficiency has become a bit OCD).. maybe the center lanes are less noticeable, or maybe it is actually getting better... hell if I know... but was disappointed at first...
You get used to it after a while.
I have noticed the "micro adjustments" are more severe in long sweeping curves and/or bumpy surfaces. If the MME is bouncing due to rough road surface then the adjustments are fairly bothersome. So much so that I usually just disable the darn thing.

I haven't read this whole thread so please pardon me if this has been said already but I set the land keeping sensitivity to HIGH and it smoothed out most of that ping-ponging. It's counterintuitive but that's been my experience. It also negotiates turns more in line with my own approach. By that I mean that in "normal" sensitivity, the car would go just a hair deeper into a curve before making the turn than I was comfortable with. It still negotiated curves just fine, but it was just different enough that I was uncomfortable with it. When I switched sensitivity to "high", it starts the turn that little bit earlier than it did before, and pretty much exactly where I would do it under manual control.

Received a message today for another Power Up. The notes said something about improving Blue Cruise Hands Free so I accepted the update.

Next step is for the car to download the package. If it requires scheduled downtime then I will get to pick a time that is convenient for me. If not, then it will install itself and let me know when completed.

I will be interested to see if this improves the steering performance any. (Crossing fingers.. )

That was fast. Will see if it drives any different.

On a side note.....
The car really does NOT like being low on washer fluid. I have seen several dozen alerts so far. :)

No, not early access.
However, I am happy to report this is a very worthwhile update. Almost all the symptoms appear to be addressed. The update installed while I stopped for lunch and then I headed out to a jobsite immediately after which was about a 45 mile round trip on BC routes.

BlueCruise functioned 100%. The only time it dropped down to BCHO were in expected areas such as large sweeping curves, interchanges, off ramps etc. There were no micro adjustment nor did it hunt for the right side of the lane. Lane control was extremely smooth. In fact, there were a few times that I completely forgot it was driving itself. The wheel was smooth and steady.

At no time did BC drop completely like I am used to experiencing.
When I changed lanes, BCHF resumed immediately and gently found the center of the lane without hunting around.
There were no Front Camera Faults and no Pre-Collision Assist Unavailable messages (although it is much too soon to declare those symptoms have been fixed).

This is the first meaningful update that I have received in 18 months of ownership.
Ford did very well with this one! ?

Wow! thats awesome news. I can't wait to test it out. I use BlueCruise a lot and it never seems to handle those sharper turns and the micro adjustments make my wife sick so she doesn't like me to use it when she is with me. Just ran down to the car and checked for updates. Sadly nada yet.

Still drops out on the sharper turns but now you can really tell it is struggling and can then grab the wheel before it gives up. But straight sections does really well, so well that you almost forget it is in hands-free because the steering wheel is steady and smooth. So, when I come across a sweeping curve then I notice the wheel trying to cope and can pretty much predict if BCHF is going to drop. One or two corrections and it will usually handle the curve. More than 2 or 3 and it's time to take over.

I can totally work with that. None of us expect it to drive itself, but we do want it to drive nice and smooth in the reasonable stretches of the road and that appears to be what I have now. A more reasonable driving aid that actually can be useful and not annoying like it was before.

One more drive home coming up......crossing fingers it still works as well as it did this afternoon. :)

It isn't difficult, but it isn't especially useful either.
My point was that those few moments you might feel crowded it is easy enough to take control without disabling the system.

But you be you.
