After inquiring today, the last day of Q1 2022, about the BlueCruise OTA, Ford's Passenger Vehicle Team responds that it's now delayed until the end of Q2 2022.

Funny how today's dealer letter says something quite different...

The OTA deployment is likely delayed. This is why they are allowing dealers to apply the updates if you want to go that route instead of waiting.

Just emailed my dealer to schedule it in mid April if the updates haven't completed. Tired of waiting, missed deadlines.

Taking with a grain of salt until someone higher up confirms, we know how accurate CS Team can be

I'm really curious to know what major bugs they ran into which caused such a long delay, especially if the updates are available now through the dealer.

Maybe they only need 4-6 weeks but went with a delay to the end of Q2 to be safe?

I think the main reason for the delay lies in the 1.7.1 stuck thread. They don't want another situation like that to happen.

True. Maybe they want to get all those users with stuck 1.7.1 fixed before pushing out further OTA.

To rely on that communication as Ford officially moving the goalpost 90 days might be a mistake.

It seems like the pace of updates has slowed. Several people received rapid fire updates, but I've been on 2.4.2 for nearly 2 weeks and no pending OTAs.

Probably inconsistent results that vary wildly car to car. It's great they convinced some owners to be test cases for the OTA instead of just sending it out and hope for the best. It's also pretty cool they are allowing dealers to load it manually now that it seems clear they won't be able to OTA in time to meet owner expectations. I would prefer something complicated like a BC package to be loaded via cable anyway.

I'm on 2.4.1 and had an attempt at 2.4.2 that failed while my car was in the shop and nothing since then

Do tell. First I've heard of this option. Any details? Are they charging labor for this or free?
