I have a job 1 and recently had the windshield, roof recall completed along with 22S41 and 21G01 performed. Anytime I engage cruise control with lane keeping I get the attached message on the IP screen. The second image appears when I took a picture of the message so it seems the face recognition is working. The third image is of the settings screen. Anyone give me advise what needs to be done ?

Based on your Sync display, it appears your vehicle is not up to date with BlueCruise software, it should have an option for Hands Free Lane Centering.

Did BlueCruise ever work on your car?

You need to go back to the dealer to have them fix it.

Dealer failed to update your car properly. Last step of update clearly says to take the car on a BlueCruise road and drive it with BlueCruise. Take it back and be annoyed with them.

I figured that was the issue. I have called the Ford Lincoln of Queens on 7/19 and 7/22 and left voice mails and have not received a call back. Sent email today. I feel they are avoiding speaking to me. Not shocked by this. Thank you for your replies.

Since the OP got their question answered, here is a question I have about BlueCruise. We have it in our MME, works fine, as configured. But... since the driver must keep eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, it is not really "hands-free". Seems like a lane-keeping system with a catchy name. Am I wrong?

Not wrong, no. BlueCruise activates hands-free only on sections of pre-mapped divided highways. If you're not on one of those highways, you need to keep your hands on the wheel and it largely acts like it did before BlueCruise, except you have the eye nanny in place.

When you get onto one of those pre-mapped sections, apparently the little lane monitoring icon will go from green to blue, and you'll see a filled-in circle around the car icon on the dash (as opposed to the open bubble of the standard lane centering). Then it will tell you specifically that you are in handsfree mode. If you hit corner or there are some weird line stripes that it doesn't like, you'll be prompted to take control again, but if not, it can happily drive itself on those highways.

There's a terrible resolution map here: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/multimedia/album/technology/bluecruise.html#

Thanks for the reply. We were on a BlueCruise highway, and intially got hands-on alerts, then it may have gone to hands free. but the dash icons were jumping around, and I was watching traffic and not the dash.

This video can help prepare you for what to expect while you're driving. When you are in hands-free mode, it is truly hands-free but you that is all. You will still need to concentrate on driving and be ready to take over when needed.

No hands on wheel needed for bluecruise

You do not need to have your hands on the wheel.

I checked your VIN for the install history:

1. They did not install the 22S41 recall updates

2. All of the Blue Cruise updates are installed. The SYNC handsfree options come up after they do one or two SYNC resets. I'm not sure if the FDRS reset and steering controls reset (hold volume down and right arrow/next track) do the same thing or not but you could give it a try. Do two steering control resets and see if you get a handsfree option in your adaptive cruise setting.
