so if I have an EA plan/membership I have to interact with the charger using my phone before plugging in? no way of linking the car to the EA account? I like plug and charge but now my free hours are used up

I can only answer the interaction part and I can report that I just charged at an Electrify America / plug and charge designated station and it worked beautifully. I pulled up, put the charger in the car and it connected automatically, with no action from me, and started charging. Note if it is using the free charging it will show as billing but after you finish then nothing is charged.so if I have an EA plan/membership I have to interact with the charger using my phone before plugging in? no way of linking the car to the EA account? Correct. At this time.so if I have an EA plan/membership I have to interact with the charger using my phone before plugging in? no way of linking the car to the EA account? I like plug and charge but now my free hours are used up
This is using Plug and Charge, not using an EA account.I can only answer the interaction part and I can report that I just charged at an Electrify America / plug and charge designated station and it worked beautifully. Exact same experience, it was like magic, it was my first time charging the Mach-e.I can only answer the interaction part and I can report that I just charged at an Electrify America / plug and charge designated station and it worked beautifully. So, there is another program that Ford is testing. I believe it was only offered to Early Access members for a short time. I opted in. Ford offered a free one year membership to EA pass + charging through the P&C feature. I get the EA pass + rate without having to pay the monthly fee and it works through Plug and Charge. I suspect that after the first year, it won’t be free but who knows. I only mention this because, as a test, it may become available to everyone in the future, but again, who knows.I can only answer the interaction part and I can report that I just charged at an Electrify America / plug and charge designated station and it worked beautifully. Or, turn off Plug & Charge, plug in first, and activate the session with with the EA app swipe or phone tap. I found the phone tap to be easiest method. But the EA app does need to be open and logged into for authentication before tapping the phone to the charger. If you want to get EA's Pass+ account, you must activate the charger with the EA app, then plug in. If you plug in first, and have Plug and Charge enabled, it will kick in.
Take the total and subtract tax. And it may be more than the state tax rate.@RickMachE Maybe it was a one time “deal”, but when my free kw ran out, I found Ford charged me more via Blue Oval than if I had just paid directly. I don’t use L3 often. However, I’m disabling P&C, and paying EA and EV Go directly when I need them to avoid the additional Ford up charge.
