Bluetooth keeps dropping

For whatever reason, when I am on Android auto and do a phone call or listen to music the connection will drop and it will say phone not found Bluetooth connection missing.
But only when I have a key setup in the app. No matter if I am actually logged into the app or not.
Thats definitely a weird one.

2 years ago I bought a brand new Edge ST. I had strange bluetooth issues like that. It took a few days to get my phone to even pair, and then once it was it worked once and never again. It would try to connect and then fail. The dealer ended up having to replace the APIM completely because it just had a bad Bluetooth chip in it. After the replaced it, it worked fine from then on.

Totally weird, now as I had the phone set up with out the paak and used it for 2 days, I set up the paak again. Now everything seems working fine. Maybe a lil early to be sure, but for now it is good.

I was in the middle of trying to set up the charging part of the Ap when it locked up on me. So I just deleted it thinking I would simply reinstall and boy that was a huge project. So I finally called the Ford "Guide" through the Ap. Excellent service. They walked me though step by step setting up all the Paak and before that bluetooth. One of the things he mentioned was my 2 accounts with Ford. I had one with my regular user name and one with my email. That was confusing the Ap. He fixed that. I also had Bluetooth set up twice on my MachE, he told me how to fix that too. Hopefully some of this will help with my Bluetooth issues.

I know Gadget! For those of you wondering why I had two of everything...I have been a loyal Ford customer for many many years. Back in the Day you could use your user name for Ford Sync and that is what my account was under. But now we use our email as out sign in and the ap. never combined the two. I thought that was also why I had two Bluetooth accounts on the MachE. But today when I was out It recreated that second Bluetooth connection. Apple Car Play still worked so I was able to make a call and listen to a podcast, but it says I have nothing connected by Bluetooth.

I'm having problems with Bluetooth in that it keeps dropping the pairing connection and then tries to reconnect and often it cannot. I play music through the connection to the phone via Bluetooth (NOT Car Play). I have an iPhone X. I did blame my hearing aids at first because they connect to the phone via Bluetooth but I took them off and tried riding in the car with just my iPhone and it kept on dropping the pairing then as well. Any ideas?

What if you delete the phone as a key function on your ford pass app. Helped me

Sometimes going to the Bluetooth on the phone and fiddling around for a bit will get things going, but wish it would just not drop.

Did you try to remove the key in the ford pass app?

And then just use the fob only?

Funny you should mention ear buds because I wear hearing aids that use Bluetooth to connect to my iPhone and this also may be the culprit. I don’t know who to contact; Apple? Starkey? Ford?

Funny you should mention ear buds because I wear hearing aids that use Bluetooth to connect to my iPhone and this also may be the culprit. I don’t know who to contact; Apple? Starkey? Ford?
That is interesting. I wonder about that now. Similar connections, similar problems. I would start with the first place you can find a phone number, or a customer service person who is knowledgeable. Let us know if you get past the phone tree hell.

I am convinced its the damn phone as a key as i had zero issues on my connection until i turned that on. I need to get a second key so i can delete it and give it a shot. Too gun shy to delete it until i have a backup key.

So FORD awesome job. Spend 60k on a car and bluetooth does not work with the only option for a second key. How about you either fix this or offer a second key?? Seems like a reasonable ask to me......
