Not content to slam the Volt in America, Mark Modica follows Bob Lutz to China, where Mr. Lutz is scheduled to speak at several engineering conferences. Modica says to himself "I will go everywhere stupid, old Lutz goes, and will undermine the Volt".

On the first day, Bob Lutz speaks to China's brightest mechanical engineers. At the reception, Modica tells everyone who will listen how poorly the Volt is manufactured. Afterwards, Bob Lutz goes to a bar, and is followed by Modica. They sit down at the bar, and Modica says "I am going to destroy your life's work old man." Lutz orders a glass of water. Modica can't read the menu, and says "I'll have a glass of water too". Bob Lutz takes notice.

On the second day, Bob Lutz speaks to China's most brilliant chemical engineers. At the reception, Modica tells everyone who will listen how poor the Volt's battery chemistry is. Afterwards, Bob Lutz goes to a bar, and is followed by Modica. They sit down at the bar, and Modica says "You are an idiot for developing the Volt." Lutz says, "I'll have a glass of H2O", whereupon Modica says "I'll have a glass of H2O too".

Modica is subsequently rushed to the hospital for ingesting hydrogen peroxide.

Rush Limbaugh, Sandra Fluke, and Bob Lutz are riding in a train.

As the train goes through a tunnel, it becomes completely dark.
There is a kissing noise, and then the very loud sound of a really hard slap.
When the train comes out of the tunnel, Sandra Fluke and Bob Lutz are sitting as if nothing had happened, but Rush Limbaugh is rubbing his face where he had been slapped.

• Rush Limbaugh is thinking: "Bob Lutz must have kissed Sandra Fluke, and she slapped me instead."
• Sandra Fluke is thinking: "Rush Limbaugh must have tried to kiss me and actually kissed Bob Lutz, and got slapped for it."

Bob Lutz is jogging in the park behind Sandra Fluke. They come upon a frog sitting on a rock beside a pond. Sandra cups her ear and leans over the frog who says "I am actually Rush Limbaugh. If you kiss me I will return to being a radio host, and will apologize to you."

Sandra grabs the frog, puts him in her bag, and resumes jogging. Curious, Bob Lutz jogs up next to Sandra, and says "I could not help but overhear. Are you going to turn him back into Rush Limbaugh?" Sandra says "No. A talking frog is worth a lot more than Rush Limbaugh right now."

One of the very interesting points from the discussion with Bob Lutz is that auto sales in the U.S. have not recovered to pre-pandemic levels. That is captured well in this graph:

Consequently, the manufacturers are in some distress.

I have read separately that Nissan and Volkswagen are in serious trouble.
