Good morning everyone. So I think I may know what is wrong with your front pony. My front pony looked great for about a week. Then one of his hooves got “dirty”. Then he decided to go for a swim and his entire lower half was “under water” (not lit). Then, he died a was buried under ground (completely dead). I pulled the entire thing apart and the pictures show what I found. The inside of the pony sprung a leak when I pulled on it. You can actually see water coming out of it in the pictures. This thing will never last unless there are serious modifications. Not sure who is designing these things, but I would assume they should take water intrusion into account. Oh well, live and learn.

Was this a first Gen or first round unit? Mine looked exactly like yours. After some discussions with Bruce/Bruce, they replaced it. This was a known issue.

That is why you can pictures of BSKT dunking powered up units into a bucket of water to show that they were sealed.

Before I installed the second Gen unit and I looked at the seams and I did not see any cracks or gaps. I also ran a thin bead of silicone along the seam and let it cure before installing.

I also think that the seam could open up if someone presses agressively in one spot during install, thus cracking the seal.

Yes, some of the first Gen had that issue. The second Gen was made differently and we have not seen any issues with them so far. Anyone that has an issue with either Gen can get a free replacement within a week. Just let me know.

Supertayt DM me your address for a replacement.

I’ve had my BSKT pony for just 3 weeks and it looked amazing when first fitted, unfortunately the nose, tail, and hoofs are now all starting to flicker and die. It’s allegedly the latest generation (v3) but alas the website says no returns.

Such a shame that a $220 purchase only lasts such a short space of time. :crying:

No returns, but their warranty service has been excellent. I'm not sure who handles warranty replacement in the UK but @markboris has gone above and beyond for US customers.

There is no issue with your connector. Various years and models work differently. '21-'23 will work with both red and yellow connections doing what they are supposed to do. '24 and up only work with the yellow connector and only comes on with the headlights. Your connector should have come with a very long red wire. If you want to have the pony come on all the time the DRL's are on, you need to run that wire to the inside and connect an ignition wire with a fuse tap at the BCM. There is also a wired you can tap into in the Frunk compartment but it is not an ignition but will basically do the same thing. I can explain more about that if you want.
@markboris could you send me the info as well please?

It is disappointing. I noticed today that mine is now showing signs of the same thing and in similar places. As we brought them at the same time and spent most of a Saturday fitting them it is safe to say annoyed is putting it lightly.

I logged in today to see if anyone had a solution for the rear light light blocking the reverse camera when it's dark and saw this thread. I thought that maybe the edge of the front pony light was just always out... Glad to know I wasn't crazy.

@markboris mind sending that warranty info my way as well. Please and thank you.

I normally would send out a replacement pony however I have been out of stock for a few weeks and waiting for the next shipment. I'll let you know if I'll be doing this or if BSKT will send you one which sometimes they do.

Just a FYI, the front lit pony v3 is 50% off with code BSKT50. Shipping was a bit much, but with the discount, it was more palatable.

Anyone know what his 'Ultimate' pony is? Or is it a v3 with a slow ramp up to full bright?

Nope, completely different design.

They are built as a single piece through ultrasonic welding and offers a clean, precise light output. It comes with a 1-year warranty, extendable to 3 years, and is fully sealed against water and moisture. Just like the OEM GT Pony, the ULTIMATE will showcase smooth fade-in and fade-out effects. Available in 3 color finishes: original, black edition and bronze edition.
