I will likely subscribe. The live traffic data and geo-points like new charging locations is worth paying for.

Google Maps, Apple Maps and others are not "free" and we should stop pretending as if they are.
I don't pay for my android auto or Google maps so......I guess I don't understand your comment

For me, Android auto with Google maps EV routing is more then enough for long trips, for local drive I never used Ford navigation.

I DIDN'T SEE ANY USEFUL THING IN FORD NAVIGATION.
I never use the Ford navigation. If you can't use plug share or do like 10 minutes of preplanning before a new trip ..... I guess you would need Ford navigation??? But really, I don't see the point in paying for something I can get free from multiple sources

The pre-conditioning is something I use a lot when navigating to a DCFC. I wasn't aware this was a premium feature. As a Car Play user, not having this available is really strang. I still don't understand pre-conditioning prior to departures. I've read that the car won't pre-condition if cabin temperature's been set - you have to do something different to prep the battery?

The app is absolutely terrible and needs some serious work.

They'll update the app to tell you if there's a tire leak, but they won't let me manually set cabin temperatures, defrost, etc remotely.

...so dumb.

Yes but it doesn’t cost their users an additional monetary amount to use the feature so the argument is irrelevant in this case.
The follow up question would be why “pay” for both, most people are on IOS and android already.
I’ve never used the ford navigation, never plan on using it.

People will argue that there's something in there that you need but most apps either their iPhone or android will cover anything that is missing in Ford's systems. The other problem with the Ford systems is and I'm thankful I don't have a subscription anymore. Is it used to drive me to a location. I never set every Monday morning. First thing it would take me two blocks away or four blocks away or 1 mile away. It was always different and it was very strange, but now that the subscription has ended I am no longer bothered by this navigation system, which has been a godsend.

That's what I did. I mainly used it for road trips where I'll need to use DCFC so it will pre-condition the battery before arriving at charging stations. I'm annoyed, though, that they haven't added Tesla Superchargers to it months after adapters shipped.
It comes with Sync 1270.

I updated and paid using Fordpass points. However, since I paid for the update, I don't get turn my turn voice and as soon as I use turn by turn it limits my radio volume to like a 4-5 barely hear it over road noise. I reset the screen multiple times and sometimes will fix it but 9 out of 10 times it doesn't. Oddly enough when I tell the nav to go home it works but if I type in a address it doesn't work.

Hi everyone,

Has anyone opted to subscribe to the $80 per year in - dash navigation system?

It seems to me, with Google maps , Waze, and Apple Maps…. This really isn’t needed…

Why charge for it? When no one else is?
I use it all the time. I prefer the native nav over Apple Maps, Google or Waze. It’s worth the $80 to me. Choice is good. If you, or anyone else, prefer another navigation system by all means use it.

If, however, your preferred navigation system is a marine chronometer and sextant, please post pictures. I particularly want to see the aftermarket sextant port in the sunroof. :)

Cool, thanks for the info.

(Although at the rate 2021's get OTA's it may be time to renew my Nav sub again before I get that.)
