Shop Certified Pre-Owned Ford Vehicles Now on Amazon Autos

Customers can now shop for, finance, and purchase Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned (CPO) Ford vehicles on Amazon Autos.

This new collaboration allows customers to browse a participating local dealer's inventory directly through Amazon's website, complete most of the paperwork online, and then schedule a convenient time to pick up the selected vehicle.

Every vehicle is backed by a Ford Blue Advantage warranty, which means it has passed a thorough multi-point inspection and comes with roadside assistance. This program combines the trust and quality of a Ford-certified vehicle with the familiar, convenient shopping experience of Amazon.

Key Program Features
  • 14-Day/1,000-Mile Money-Back Guarantee: All certified pre-owned vehicles sold by participating Ford dealers on Amazon Autos come with a money-back guarantee, allowing customers to return the vehicle within 14 days or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.

  • Three Tiers of Certification: Ford offers different levels of certification to meet customer needs.

  • Gold Certified: For Ford vehicles up to six years old with fewer than 80,000 miles. They undergo a 172-point inspection and include a 12-month/12,000-mile (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty.

  • Blue Certified: This can include Ford and other brands up to 10 years old with fewer than 150,000 miles. These vehicles pass a 139-point inspection and come with a 90-day/4,000-mile (whichever comes first) comprehensive limited warranty.

  • EV Certified: For electric Ford vehicles up to six years old with fewer than 80,000 miles. They receive a specialized 127-point inspection and the same comprehensive warranty coverage as Gold Certified vehicles.

  • Online Shopping and Financing: Customers can browse participating inventory within a 75-mile radius, view itemized pricing, and secure financing from a selection of banks, including Ford Credit, all on Amazon.

  • Dealer Relationship: The customer relationship remains with the local participating Ford dealer, who handles pricing, vehicle pickup, and all future service needs. Amazon facilitates the initial online transaction.

  • Availability: The program is launching in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas, with plans to expand to additional markets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the Ford and Amazon Autos collaboration?

A: Participating Ford dealers can now list their certified pre-owned vehicles on Amazon Autos, a dedicated section of Amazon for automotive shopping. This gives customers a new way to browse, compare, and purchase Ford CPO vehicles online, backed by Ford’s certification and warranty.

Q: What’s the difference between a certified pre-owned Ford and a regular used car?

A: Certified pre-owned Fords go through a thorough inspection and reconditioning process by Ford factory-trained technicians. They come with a manufacturer-backed warranty, Ford Rewards points, and other benefits. This gives customers peace of mind and added value compared to standard used vehicles.

Q: How do I find a certified pre-owned Ford on Amazon?

A: Customers can visit Amazon Autos, use the search filters to select “certified pre-owned,” and see available Ford vehicles in their area. There will also be a dedicated Ford Blue Advantage landing page explaining the benefits and certification levels.

Q: Can I complete the entire purchase online?

A: Yes, customers can go from browsing to purchase on Amazon, including applying for financing and estimating payments. The only step left is to pick up the vehicle at the dealership — no Amazon Prime delivery for cars!

Q: Who manages my relationship after I buy a car through Amazon Autos?

A: The relationship remains with the participating Ford dealer. Amazon simply facilitates the transaction; all follow-up, service, and privacy matters are handled by the dealer, not Amazon.

Q: Is financing available?

A: Financing is available through a selection of banks chosen by the dealer, including Ford Credit. Customers can choose the option that works best for them.

Q: Where is the Ford Amazon Autos program available?

A: Ford certified pre-owned vehicles are now available on Amazon Autos in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas with plans to expand to additional cities in the coming months.

Q: What are the customer benefits of buying a CPO Ford on Amazon?

A: Customers get a vehicle that’s been inspected, reconditioned, and comes with a Ford warranty, Ford Rewards points, and in some cases, a money-back guarantee. It’s a convenient, trusted way to shop for a used car online.

Q: Are there any early results or feedback from dealers?

A: The program is new, but initial dealer sign-ups have been positive, with about 160-180 dealers expressing interest and around 20 already launched or launching soon. Ford is gathering feedback to share more insights as the program grows.

To be clear, you are buying from a dealership, not Ford. Hyundai has been doing this for a while, I believe with new vehicles.

Going through two different middlemen? No thanks. I can’t even stand the one we already have to “deal” with.

Ford is legally prohibited from selling cars directly to consumers in all 50 states.

Oh, I know. These nonsense laws are one of the reasons we are seriously considering not buying another Ford when it’s time to replace the Mustang. I certainly won’t be buying through two dealerships.

Understood.

As you’re no doubt aware, people would need to buy from a manufacturer selling direct due to an exemption (Tesla most commonly), or one in litigation or intense lobbying over their direct to consumer sales practices as none of the “big 3” can sell direct. Personally, I have no issue with car makers selling direct.

The dealership claims of competition and service are complete and utter donkey flop. Every new car dealer in Hawaii has exactly an $8,000 adm, and most have utterly incompetent service. Every Toyota dealer in the state is owned by the licensed distributor of Toyotas in Hawaii (That’s not Toyota USA btw). Every Kia dealer in the state is owned by the same company. All but one Hyundai dealer are owned by the same company. 25% of Chevrolet dealers are owned by the same people who own all the Toyota dealers out here. What competition?

I’d allow all manufacturers to sell direct if I had my way. I honestly believe that one major reason for Tesla’s sales is not just the curiosity about EVs, it’s the simple pricing. I can say that when it’s time to replace Otto, I have no idea what it’ll be, but it won’t be a Teska

We’ve identified the Rivian R2 and Scout Traveler as possible options to replace the Mustang when the time comes, if we buy new. It’s sad because I think the Mustang is great. I just have zero interest in dealerships. Or we buy used private party.

To be fair, there are good dealers. There's a Ford dealer in the SFO Bay Area I'd buy from before buying anything from anyone in this state. Otherwise, we've also used a broker with great success. They've saved us significant money, even including their fee, as well as locating the precise vehicles we were after

Maybe, but after all the dealers I’ve wasted my time with, I don’t have any interest in spending more time finding a new one. I think I’d rather just order a car online and have it delivered.

I remember when Saturn was going to the "different car dealer". They offered some kind of trial period. That didn't last long. In fact, my dad took them up on their offer and then decided he didn't want it after a day or so.

I bought a 2010 certified used Prius. When it came time to trade the car in and get the latest ADAS the dealer, a different one, said the car had its milage rolled back tens of thousands of miles. I called Toyota and they refused to do anything about it. So my son and I entered the Vin Number and sure enough there were several service record from chain oil changers/tire shops showing milage and indicating it was driven about 30-40,000 miles a year, not 12,000. I wrote the original dealer with the details. They too refused to do anything. Finally I sent them a chart showing documented mileage at key points in the life of the car. They bought it back for $4,000 more than what its value at the odometer reading. I do not think the dealer knowingly committed fraud. Just bought a car at an auction, did the 150 points of checking things out, but neglected to pull up the Vin number.

Lesson - always pull up the vin number, even on an alleged certified vehicle.

ps - I'll bet that dealership always does this now.
