Pressed the Yes button. Should we have gone in through Settings?
Thanks so much CRPony, Pressing the on screen Yes button which appears after you press the Stop (Power - Start/Stop button), seems to temporary disable the motion sensors, and is used if you want to stay in the car for a while. When you exit the car and the car is locked (either by key fob or walk away) the motion sensors are enabled again.

I am hoping that disabling the motion sensors via Settings/Vehicle/Alarm System that after the car is locked the motion sensors remain Off. Unlocking the car automatically turns the motion sensors to On again. The motion sensors are the internal ā€˜movement’ sensor and the ’tilt’ sensor.

I’ll let you know the outcome for my 6 hr ferry trip on the 24th ?.

Thank you, I’m just hoping that I don’t come back to find a totally flat 12V battery after the alarm has been sounding constantly over a 6 hour period ???.

Since you're in the Canada group on this one, I'm just curious; are you taking the ferry to and/or from Newfoundland? It's the only ferry ride I can think of that'd be that long.

I'd love to hear what the experience of having an electric car out there is like (especially charging infrastructure). My grandparents used to live there, and I haven't been back since my grandfather died ~30 years ago. Going back is one of my "bucket list" items for a retirement trip.

Hi SpongeBad, No sorry, my ferry trip is from Portsmouth (England) to Caen (France). I live in Scotland so have a 500 mile drive south to Portsmouth. Longest journey I will have done so far and the first ferry trip.

The reason why I posted in this thread is because I did a search for ā€˜ferry’ and this thread came up. I am desperately trying to find a Mach-e owner who has made a successful ferry trip, meaning they disallowed the motion sensors via the settings menu and the alarm did not go off during the crossing, but alas no such luck anywhere on this forum so far ?.

Ah. All good. Thanks for responding. I hope all goes well on your trip and your motion sensors behave themselves!

You should be fine without charging in the summer. However, be aware that wind, road conditions, temperature all play a part in your range. Have a back up plan in case you do need to charge. Check the Petro-Can and Electrify Canada apps for charger locations. Petro-Can is less expensive than EC.
I have had it since Wednesday, and I am loving it so far. There are good charging options in Canmore, but not so good on the other end of the 93. I hope Petro Canada will open some fast charges in Radium Hot Springs soon. The FordPass app doesn't show any fast chargers there.
