Has anyone else seen this article from 1 day ago that says the California Route 1 range for the 22 model year is getting an increase from 305 to 314 miles? It already has the best range of all trims and this makes it even better. I'm kinda happy about this as I have a California edition ordered, wonder how it can achieve such good numbers compared to all the other trim levels. ?

To be precise, I think that must be referring to the RWD CA Rt. 1, for the all-new for 2022 AWD CA RT. 1, I think they are estimating at 300 miles?

The battery goes from 88 to 91kw usable. That's a 3.4% increase. 305 x 1.034 = 315.

That has been known for a while, the increase in useable battery capacity. Did you think it wasn't increasing the range?

All models are increasing in range as a result.

Thanks Rick, that makes sense, I knew the usable battery was increasing for all models but didn’t make the connection, my bad. Lol Definitely good news for all of us waiting on a 22 model.

Yes I’m sure it’s the RWD model for 21 and 22. In 21 MY you could not get an AWD California model so it’s virgin territory. ?

You know Rick I was feeling dumb until I realized that the Ford build and price doesn’t represent the increase you mention for the 22 MY Mach E’s. Since this is my first EV and I have researched only the 22’s for my order that’s all I can go on. The 22 build and price still shows 305 max range for California and 300 for other trims. So, it isn’t really known if Ford doesn’t even post it to their web page.

No, it's known. Available battery capacity is being increased in every Mach-E made. "EPA-estimated" can't be changed until... EPA estimates it...
