Okay, I have the location set for home and the charge level at 90%. Also set to charge when plugged in. Both the app and the car say charge to 90%, but continues to charge to 100%.

I worked before the last update, so what happened?

Selecting to ā€˜charge when plugged in’ means override all settings/schedules and charge to 100%. You have to select ā€˜use preferred charge settings’ in FordPass.

After updating the app to 4.18.0 for iOS, the app said it was charging to 100%, but when I checked from the car, the screen said charging to 85% (my target charge). When I checked after the charge was finished, the car was at 85%. If your car is actually charging to 100%, then you have a different problem.

My app did switch to "charge when plugged in" at one point prior to 4.18.0, not sure if that was something I did inadvertently or not. The car did charge to 100% then.

Another time my car charged to 100% was when the GPS got confused and thought I was 2 houses down the street. Since I didn't have a charge location setup for that house, it charged to 100%. Check that your location in the app is correct. If not, build a new preferred charge profile. But, doing that from the app broke for me in 4.18.0, so you might need to do that from the car.

Yep, glitchy since the last update. I can’t even see the charge.

I’ve found when something like this happens if you delete the charge location from the car, reconnect, and then add it back again, it fixes this issue. You can’t just reset the charge limit; you need to fully delete the location and add it back, then set it to where you want it.

There is something really wrong with the software and my blood pressure should not be taken right now.
1. Setting the charge level in the car to 90% it still charges to 100%
2. Setting the charge level in the app to 80% it still charges to 100%
3. Deleted app and rebooted the phone. It no longer configures phone as a key, and still charges to 100%
4. The Grizzl-e that worked for a year at 40A, no longer works at 40 or 32 making it useless.
5. A replacement Grizzl-e didn't work either
6. Using the Grizzl-e on a Tesla with an adapter worked flawlessly.
7. The side Mach-e badge is falling off. It's a replacement for the first one that became unglued. I hand wash the car, so it's a Ford issue.

At this point, I must assume the internal software is corrupt. I'll have the dealer reflash the firmware and see if that helps. If not, I'm out looking for another vehicle. Any suggestions?

I like the style, seats, performance, and BlueCruise, BUT this is driving me nuts.

Turn off the charge when plugged in and turn on the use preferred charge settings as posted previously. Otherwise your car will keep doing this.

Update:
The Ford Pass app required that I delete my profile, phone, and reset (not master) in sync. It appears the PAAK will work again.

The dealer called and told me they checked the log and there were 2 overheat codes at the connector. I'm to take my charger to them and they will see why it fails.

Back from the dealer. Ordering a new charge port connector.

What do you mean by "Turn off the charge when plugged in." Do you mean to unplug the EVSE from the 240 volt SEMA 14-50 outlet while the car is charging? How do you set up the preferred charge settings? I'm at a loss for trying to correct this.

I believe he is talking about FordPass app. In the Vehicle/Charge settings under your charge location, you can set it to charge when plugged in, or set times to charge. Under set times, adjust to whatever you want. I just leave an hour gap, so it's almost the same as charge when plugged in.

I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure if that works. It's a bug in the software. You know fix one thing and break two.

I can’t set it correctly in my car under the ā€œChargingā€ location (drawer). It will not let me add the correct Home address listing it as a Shorewood address and not my address. It has not corrected things yet on Ford’s end I assume with addresses like people are telling me to wait 24 hours. Also when I plug the car back in I am not allowed to add the correct Home address. I did set up a ā€œGarageā€ location that is at least on my block though not my exact address.
