Note from user manual: Reaching your max charge level by your next departure timeis always the priority. When charge times are set, charging outside your preferred charging time windows could be necessary in order to finish by your next departure time. In this case, the vehicle will typically begin charging right away after plugging in.
In my case I have NO departure times set, and the car STILL defaults to charge immediately regardless of the time window I have set. I want it to ALWAYS use the schedule even it that means it will not reach the max percentage target. I care more about the time when I use electricity (during my Super Off Peak Hours only) than I do about getting all the way to 90%.

Please @Ford, give us the ability to choose charge time as the priority above all else.

@DYohn you need to check out 3rd party EVSE. I have a chargepoint, that will control the charge window regardless of what the car is trying to do. Plus you can select your electric company plan and it will auto configure.

@RedDragon, the problem is you're thinking logically. You figure you are at 78% state of charge, and want to go to 80%, and that you have 3 hours to do so (1 - 4AM). Unfortunately, as demonstrated by the car showing you that it wants to charge starting at 9:45PM Friday, and won't finish until 4:47AM on Saturday, it's clearly not seeing that you only have 2% to go.

Why? Don't know, but it's pretty clear that's the issue.
@RedDragon @RickMachE are we using 110 volts, a normal household outlet?

you only get 3 miles every hour if that is the case.

I have a Juicebox level 2, but not one of the configurable ones. Ford Pass IS configured per my utility's rate window, but it constantly ignores it. I have no departure times set, only to charge during the lowest rate window between 11pm and 5AM. If my car is below 40% when I come home, Ford Pass says my ESVE will not hit 90% within that window and starts charging. I want to override that function in some way other then manually stopping the charge or unplugging the car. I want to be able to set time priority only.

@DYohn yep, Ford is taking a conservative approach for novices. Sometimes I think they are trying to hard. They need to follow the KISS principle. Like, all this GPS locations setting Max charge levels. Just let me drag the slider to what level I want, and I can change it when I need it higher.

It is wise of them to make it as idiot-proof as they can, but that does not mean they cannot also include options for those of us who understand what we are doing. :)

Advance options would be nice. This has been one of my biggest complaints about the car. The charging logic is ridiculous. I set 90% as a “max charge” not an “OMG do whatever you can to reach this Charge!”

For my situation I have NO departure times set, so unclear what else it's looking if it's worried about getting to the next departure time. I'm charging on a 110v right now. I'll try extending the window and see if I get any different results.

Android users out there - if you set a charging schedule in your car or Fordpass app, do you see those times in the Fordpass app? As I showed in my previous picture no times show up in my Fordpass for my he location, even though they are programmed in the car.

"OMG do whatever you can to reach 90%! But also OMG stop at 80% if fast charging or you'll blow up the battery!!"

I have the same situation and would like the same result. @Ford Motor Company - pleas look into this!

You won't get different results. On 110v, the car can't project how long it will take. The only solution is a WiFi outlet or timer to control charging hours.

This was an issue with my Ford Energi PHEV in 2018, and is still an issue and you won't get any solution from Ford.

Interesting. Didn't realize that it could be bc of 110v.

Anyone w a Tesla - if you charge 110v do you have the same issue ? Or does Tesla give u more flexibility?

You're going to change cars because you can't buy a $5 outlet or timer?

110 charging for 99% of EV owners is useless. With a 3 hour charge window it is more than useless, unless you charge at work and barely drive.

Get a smart EVSE, here is my ChargePoint App, it will override anything that is set in the vehicle.

Who said anything about changing cars? I'm just curious if other cars can do this...first time EV owner. If it's standard on other cars, I'm not sure why it couldn't be standard here. That's all.
