Thanks! Guess I’m not so equipped!
we try not to talk about people's equipment on here - it's rude.

wait, I'm being told that I misunderstood your statement. carry on.

No, there was not a resolution. It opened again one day and has been problem free since. I'm kinda glad that you are reporting it though, so its not just my imagination and it did not happen to me only. I just don't believe anything I had inside jammed it shut and believe its a flaw in the flexible cover itself, but I can't explain it. Just keep trying to open it under different temperature and other conditions, and let us know if it opens spontaneously for you too. Good luck!!

Ours was jammed since taking it in for our 20k service at the dealer. Only today did I think to search this forum for a resolution!

Two other threads here explain the same issue—someone suggested lightly tapping around the sides of the center console with a rubber mallet. I put an old (clean) sock on the mallet head to avoid marring. It took several taps followed immediately by trying to open the roll top before it finally decided to behave and slide open.

did you figure out what was stuck? I'm having the same issue.
I wonder if perhaps, the rails are slightly misaligned in relation to the cover. I'd do the light tapping with a mallet on boths sides on the entire cover.

I was able to open mine by using a long thin piece of aluminum (an old bracket I had lying around). I slid it into the the top/rear part of the console and I could tell when it hit the back. I just moved it back and forth a couple of times and that seemed to do the trick.

That was the perfect fix!

I just got in my car after my kid and of course he jammed it. I used a (cleaned) flat drain clearing plastic tool to slide under and knock the item down. It was a flat end of a sunglass case that was up behind the cover so it couldn't slide back.

My console was jammed for over 6 months. finally took it to the dealer. it was a plastic sandwich baggy that got stuck. the dealership was great about it.
