Center screen freeze

Sometimes the center screen freezes shortly after I start the car. This is particularly annoying when I am trying to back out of my tiny garage through the tinier garage door onto the narrow, curved driveway. The freeze seems to be occurring more frequently now than before, sometimes as often at every other time I start the car. Is it just my car, or is this is a known problem?

Happens on mine occasionally too. Sometimes it'll be once a day or every other trip and sometimes I'll go a week or two without seeing it.

If you haven't figured it out yet, holding the skip button (right arrow) and volume down for about 5 seconds should restart it without having to turn the car off and on.

My car does that at least once a week. So far I just deal with it, as that option is, for now, less stressful than taking it to the dealership to be checked out.

Pretty sure I just saw it here on the forum somewhere. It had happened to me a few times before I started looking for answers and that seems to work.

They are on the wheel. It is how you perform a Sync reset.

That's weird, I was just looking through the manual to see if I could find it but I was searching for "reset"........

It’s just a reboot. Reset generally means erase all the data.

Just in case: last summer my center screen froze but it wasn't just temporary and repeated Sync reboots didn't help. It required a software refresh at the dealership, which handled it quickly while I waited (2 hrs or so). The 30-minute highway drive to the dealership was a little weird without the center screen, but it ultimately worked out well & no screen issues since then.

This happens to many people. For my MME, the AC would not turn on until the screen rebooted itself. Some times, it was dark for minutes. I finally got a new screen because of bad pixels.

The dark screen problems also happened with the new screen but not as often.
