Has anyone had their charging door in for repair? Mine takes several pushes to close, and then it barely holds in the latch. Not sure what can be done.

I've had mine pop open while driving once, but it hasn't done it since. I know to get it to close, I have to push on the right side of the door basically where the spring-thing hits the door. If I push elsewhere it's certainly less effective. Have you tried closing it by pushing all the way to the right on top of the spring?

Yeah, but I still have to push it several times to barely catch. If I just press it in with some force slowly, it never catches. The door and mechanism are so fragile... Guess I'll have service look at it if I ever go in to service for anything.

I agree, I have the same experience. It takes several pushes for the latch to catch. I don’t plan on making an appointment solely for this issue, but I’ll definitely mention it if I’m in for service.

I guess it's just an early/bad design. But it's not Ford's first plug door.

I was about to make a thread about this very thing. I took delivery of a MME Premium a couple of weeks ago and it has this problem. It hasn't opened while driving yet thank goodness, but it is kind of hilarious how many times I have to push the cover before it will actually close.

There is a video of a Youtuber who had the same issue. They had to take it to the dealer to get it fixed.

Add me. It opened once on the highway and not again since thankfully but it takes 5 precise pushes at least to close it which scares me because it’s so flimsy. I’m sure it won’t be long until I actually need to take it in for this issue.

Why is the charge door so big anyway?

Mine does the same thing. I need to push in exactly where the pin is for it to latch. Anywhere else and it pops back open.

Have the same thing. Just a matter of pushing the door in a bit firm on the right hand side.

Try spraying the pin and the hole with dry silicone lube spray.

It's way larger then it needed to be.
