I am having issues charging at public charge stations, i tried at least 6 stations today and was not able to charge at any of them.
It kept saying charge station issues, I called the EVgo helpline and they tried to use through my credit card still no luck.

Anyone else faced this issue ? is it because of ford pass free charging ? I was able to charge at a public station a while go when I didnt enroll for the free 250kW charging. Should I try the Electrify America/EVgo apps directly instead, I have a LA trip planned this week from BayArea and wondering if I am risking with my machE...Any thoughts ?

I have not tried charging on an EVgo (they are all slow around here). Once everything was set properly, Plug & Charge worked great at Electrify America stations. However, I recommend setting up accounts with EA, EVgo, ChargePoint, etc. in case you need them.

Find a localish EA station and give that a go. If one of those chargers still fails in you, unplug and wait a bit then try again. My guess is the EVGo station was down. We get a lot of that around here with Greenlots.

I called EVgo a few days ago and they said that they are having issues with MMEs. It's weird, because I've fast charged at one before but all of a sudden they are saying it's a known issue. You're not alone, it's at least happened to me.

I used the Electrify America app and was able to charge last night. I had to call them and switch the charging station to get faster charging, but it works fine.

The only issue seems to be with using the ford pass, EA helpline asked to make sure I have added the credit card info in the ford pass app and try again (I couldn't find that though)...Will try and update

I hate to hear this. I have a trip next week and ABRP is proposing a couple EVgo stations.

Edit: Oops, EVgateway, not EVgo. Maybe I'm OK!

Are people still having issues with EVgo? I tried two separate stations, and both had the same symptoms:
1) Plug the CCS cable in, the status ring turns blue.
2) Initiate charging from app - app says waiting to initialize, and the station itself says "plug in the connector".
3) Meanwhile, my MME blinks orange and throws a "failed to charge" error.

This happens with both the RFID card and when starting the charge from the app.

Stopped at an EA station yesterday. Plugged in. Took about ten seconds and the station recognized the car and asked me if I wanted to charge the FordPass account (which would use my free kwh) or if I wanted to initiate through the EA app to pay EA member pricing. I selected FordPass and hit continue. Took about 15 seconds and the car started charging.

I didn't open the FordPass or EA app or do anything else. Just plugged in and charged. That's how it's advertised to work on EA stations and Greenlots (haven't tried one of those yet, but I found one locally that I'm going to try when I next have to public charge). No other network supports plug and charge at this point. I've used Blink (hated it), EVgo (hated it), and SEMA Connect (worked quickly with the app). I have a Chargepoint Home Flex at 50a and it works flawlessly everytime.

Stopped at EA in Tampa tonight and was charged through Ford Connected Services for a session of 27.00kWh ($11.61) to my credit card, even though I had a balance of 294 kWh from Ford. They also deducted 22 kWh from my account following this session. What is going on? Have not have any trouble until now.

I have successfully used P&C at EA. I had charge faults at EVGo L3 twice (even called them the second time w/o success) before it worked on the third try. EVGo L2s have not been a problem. I have had failures at a few public non-networked L3s in B'more (1 at a Nissan dealer and 2 elsewhere, all locations having successful check-in reports from other EV makes via PlugShare) while successfully using some public/free L2s. The L3s been tests for convenience, more than necessary charging, so I haven't reported anything to anyone yet. But, I was going to ask about it if I take my MME in for the PAAK FSB.

I went to a nearby EA station to try out the plug & charge today, not really needing any juice, but wanted to try it. It actually worked on the first try. I closed the doors and did not lock the car, plugged in and waited for the messages, it took a minute or so, then started.

It does seem that the Mach E does not like the 100+ temps in Arizona. When I was bringing it home from the dealer, I had to stop and charge using my EA app and it would only pull 30-35KW, today it was pulling 33KW, I started charging at about 70% today to test the P&C.
