Sorry I don’t have time to do tests myself. I need to charge my iPad and camera while I’m loading in for a music show and doing the soundcheck.

Do I need to leave the car “running” and turn off the countdown timer? Or do the usb ports stay energized when the car isn’t “on”.

Also, if the car is “on”, is there anyway to be sure the car is locked, without leaving my phone and key fob with the sound man or bouncer and walking back out to see if it opens? Pressing the door code combo to lock the car gives me no indication that it locked, if the car is running.

The charge ports shut down a while after shutdown. I haven’t timed it but someone said about 20 minutes.

You would have to turn off the shutdown timer and leave the vehicle on. You can see that the vehicle is locked in FordPass, also you can enable your mirrors to fold when you lock so you have a visual indicator.

The USB is not very powerful though, a nice power brick that is rated for quick charging will get your iPad juiced up faster.

When pushing 7/8 9/0, look across at the passenger door and you will see the lock light turn on on the door.

But leaving things plugged in and exposed invites theft.

Thanks everyone. Got the iPad from 56% to 71% during soundcheck which should get me through the gig.

Kill 2 birds with 1 stone: use the 12v outlet in back and keep the gear hidden under the luggage cover.

I know this is weird but I’ve never been able to find any outlet in the cargo area. I guess I’ll look again.

Thanks! Very useful. I usually use the mirror fold as an indication that the car has locked, but the mirrors don’t fold when the car is running.

The 12V power point is on the right side. Also, if you want to change the power down time (shorter or longer) after you turn off the car of this power point, you can do so in FORScan.

Doh! Right in front of my face!

(Actually I think I must have been looking for USB ports in the cargo area. Don’t tell me there are USB ports back there too.)

Thanks for the forscan clue about timing.
