Checking battery capacity - 80.9 kW? WTF?

I haven't looked at those numbers when SOC was 100%, buy did extrapolate while SOC was in the 60%-70% range - it came to 79kWh when HVB temperature was reportedly 11C (min 9C, max 14C) and 89kWh at 25C (18C - 27C).

I wonder if people would be happier or angrier if the charge % was more truthful.

Like if you can only charge to 70% in the cold, it actually SAYS 70% on the dash (instead of 100%).

Or if they used the gray bars of sadness like they do on the power meter for the GT.

I charged to 100% today (Jan 19, 2022)

Checked using OBDLink software, parameter EV Battery Energy to Empty = 80.9 kW, WTF? Maybe that's partially responsible for poor range (other than lower temps)? At 100% this time, GOM said 171 miles.

I have the same reading from my testing and that was when my 88Kw battery was at 23C. I am wondering if the OBD app is reading the info from the car properly. I have used "car scanner" and "Ford HVB" apps, both report 79.x to empty.

It really comes down to expectations. This is my first EV but for the last 30 years I have never had a battery whose performance did not degrade in cold weather, regardless of the chemistry/type of batteries. The worst offenders were the 2CR5 lithium batteries found in many cameras from the late 80s through the 90s. In cold winter months I sometimes spent more on batteries than on film.

The fact that multiple people have identical readings, and likely not identical battery temperatures, points to inaccuracy in the apps.

I usually use FORScan Lite but since the latest iOS update, it won't connect. I don't think it's the software.
