We just got our 2023 Premium MME and are wondering what all the chiming is about? When I'm the passenger, I quickly look on the modem for any indications, but see none.

"on the modem"?

As Jonathan said, be more specific.

Thank you. More specifically, while the car is in motion, I hear a da-dong chime (one (or sometimes two times in a row), but I don't see any other indicator that says why on the screen (is this a modem?) or about which I'm being warned.

I find myself asking the car why it is chiming. No answer. Nothing on screen. I have convinced myself that it is some kind of CarPlay-linked alert. It is not consistent.

bing-bee-don, bing-bee-don.

so…how do you spell that sound? ?

Sounds like either a phantom navigation or a navigation alert.

Enter a random destination in the onboard nav, then cancel the route. Turn off the 'Predicted Destinations' setting.

Check your navigation settings, do you have things like school zone alert enabled? Might be something like that.

No. The screen is not a modem.

I'm sort of thinking mine sounds like a "da-dlong."

I think I know what he's talking about. I was thinking about posting a thread about this, too.
If you have a keyboard and know which notes are which, play these notes several times in succession:
G D, G D, G D, etc. (If you don't know your notes, pick any white key and then count up five keys - using the first key you picked as key #1. That's it!)

In the last week or so, I've heard this several times as well. Sometimes it does this 2-3 times, sometimes a few more, but one time it did it about 7-8 times in a row.

Each time it happened, there was nothing on the dash display or UI that gave any indication of what this chime was for. Very confusing!

Sometimes the Navigation system will issue a chime warning when you are approaching a curve or a school zone for example.

I considered that possibility and ruled it out. It seemed utterly random.

@Janormelias, it's likely navigation related as Hybrid described. You may find it helpful to leave the vehicle's navigation app open on the big screen so that you can see the text alert when the chimes sound.

Another possibility is that the driver has the lane keeping system set to audibly alert when the driver drifts out of the lane, or switches lanes, without signaling.
