Hello Everyone. I have a MME select 2022. I really love this car. It is now ~ 7000 miles. I got it last November. I see I am getting 243 to 255 after a 100% charge. This is my first time taking the car on a long trip (400 miles). I am getting only 150 (90%) on DC first charging. This is making the trip crazy. Is that normal? Why am I not getting the standard 80%-90% range?

What was your speed with regular driving and now on the trip? Freeway speed requires more energy. And if your numbers are not actual range but GOM predictions, don't take them very seriously.

For me (premium standard range) 150 freeway miles for 90% battery is about right (2.5 miles/kWh)

Thanks for the reply. My speeds are around 75 miles on the trip, regular driving is 45 to 60 miles. So you are saying, i am getting the right mileage?

I use this road trip cheat sheet for my 21 Premium 4X Mach-E. It’s rated for 270 miles. Speed kills range.

Charge to the % in the middle. Drive at 75 mph for the purple columns or 70 mph on the green columns. Want to arrive at 10% or 15% this is how far I can go at highway speeds.

Also, whether DC fast charging or AC slow charging, electricity is electricity. As stated, your range is due to driving fast as one big factor. Figure 2.7 miles per kilowatt hour at that speed.

Here is my ABRP plan for a recent trip, which was pretty close to reality, i.e. I arrived to the EA charger with 48% instead of predicted 45%:
Ford Mustang Mach-E DC fast charging range 1688312939397

And the second leg is 138 for 79, which is close to your 150 miles for 90%. In reality I had a detour, and didn't want to arrive with a single digit remaining battery, so charged on the way.

On the way back I decided to avoid unnesessary stress of running low and watching my speed all the time, and found a route with two available chargers with good PlugShare rating about 100 miles apart. I charged to 80%, and arrived to next stop with a little more than 20%.

So buttom line - yes, I think your milage is normal (assuming that select has about the same consumption as SB premium).

There is an intermittent bug in range calculation since OTA 4.2.6 that is causing threads like yours to pop up on the daily. If you were using in-vehicle navigation, this is most likely the cause. The GOM should not be dropping so dramatically and so suddenly when simply adjusting to driving habits over time. This is going to cause so much confusion and the induced range anxiety from this bug presents a serious problem for EV adoption. Fix it @Ford Motor Company.
