I’ll say 80 minutes is too long for that charge. I had a similar experience at an EA charger a few weeks ago. However, I had just driven for 3 hours and it was 100 degrees outside. At that point it was drawing 70 kWh consistently. I assumed it was because it was so hot, the car was managing battery temp. Could’ve been the charger though.

For those new to EVs or DCFC, here is the Mach-Es charging curve as of a few months ago. Given Ford’s obvious lack of updates, I doubt this has changed.

In about 10 different sessions at 10 different stations I have never seen higher than 126. Never.
Sorry to hear that. Here's a link to one of my >160 sessions

If you check out the charging sessions I had in March on our FL trip you'l see I rarely started at under 126, even on 150kW chargers. The peak on 350s was definitely higher (150+) but the overall charging time to 80% may not have been different.

Videos and notes of the charging sessions going down and in FL are at:

I think it took about an hour to charge from 20 to 85% at the Lake City, Fl EA station. I wanted that extra 5% so that I could make it home without charging again.
Yes, anything above 80% is at L2 speed.

Car will only pull 150kw, so a 350kw charger won't go any faster "technically" than a 150kw charger. Guess it could be possible that a 350kw could get you closer to 150kw.

Only mentioning that so the OP does not seek out 350kw chargers.. Anything 150kw, or higher, will give you the charge you need.
I actually got up to 160 KW on the 350 KW unit. It will peak just over 150.

That curve only applies to extend range batteries, the curve is lower for standard range. I think the 120kw number posted earlier is due to that.

Ford Mustang Mach-E DC fast charging time? IMG_1917

Probably an outlier but here's a receipt showing 207kw from a 350kw machine

I just looked at my only EA charge (after using up Ford's free charging), and it says it hit a max of 175. I never saw that on the screen.

Too bad FordPass doesn't provide any detail that fine.

Check the current limit on the charger name plate. The ABB 150kw units are limited to 350A and that limits the output to 126 for a 400V battery, actually 360V nominal.

We mostly used the 350s. What's their limit?

Those ABB 350kw units are limited to 450A. The Signet units are all limited to 500A, whether they are 150kw or 350kw. I have never used the BTC units, so I'm not sure what those are rated at.

I have had my mach e for about 3 weeks. I normally charge at home but decided to try the local DC fast charger with the free charging event with Electrify America. This was a 150kw station. I charged from 24% to 72% in 1hr and 22min. This seems considerably slower than many of the reported times. Any suggestions as to why I saw this rate?
Assuming you have the ER battery, that's an average rate of 31kW. That's a common number for an EA station that's got problems (we often speculate that it drops to that level as a failsafe when the cable cooling isn't working).

Other than the first 2 minutes where it starts with a surge (up to ~163kW), the rest of the session (up to 80%) usually sits in the 80-120kW area when working correctly. We usually average about 95kW for the whole session most times. That's about 28 minutes to fill 50% (a typical road trip DCFC for us).
