Sorry that I did not make it clear. If the backup passcode is cleared, a workaround is to get a non Samsung phone, establish it as a PAAK, and then retype in the passcode.
Oh. I get it. Now that makes sense.

Well on the bright side i think using the key fob is better for the car, before every time i walked in the garge the car would power up now it can sleep all day and save it's lvb.

I just got accepted to the one UI7 beta.

Will report back in a few minutes with if it works after that upgrade or not.

It just works after the update! Hopefully just getting the January security update regardless of one UI version is the fix.

Welcome to the world of software.
Ford wants to play tech company then buck up and fix it.

That attitude that it's not Ford's fault ?
Every month thousands of software companies have to fix their software after Microsoft does its monthly updates.
Grow up or start selling buggy whips; reliance on other companies' OSs is the cornerstone of all consumer tech.
Ford missed rapid testing and a robust reaction.

Hopefully, the response will be to fix this quickly and then continuously improve, never to repeat it.

I mean, a Samsung update broke BLE on their phones, and then the next Samsung update appears to fix BLE which allows users to fully utilize PAAK again. I think things like continuously counting the amount of energy added beyond the Mach-E's battery capacity on the FordPass app is something to give Ford crap about, but this Samsung issue isn't it. Ford at least communicated to users about the issue and clearly Samsung fixed it.

Microsoft also rolls out bad patches themselves and isn't always immediately fixed. A recent patch last Fall caused high CPU on certain servers and they issued GPOs for IT admins to roll back the change to prevent issues until Microsoft had a proper fix. They also botched their newest Windows 11 24H2 OS where if you had the Oct/Nov patches installed along with the OS install, it prevented all future Windows patches from installing. I also have had tickets with Microsoft troubleshooting Defender having high CPU issues (now fixed by Microsoft) and another issue on policies not sticking in certain scenarios (was told by Microsoft that this month's update is supposed to fix this).

All in all, no software company is perfect.

What fix? I've gotten no updates from either Ford nor Samsung and my car still doesn't recognize my PaaK.

Luckily, as it hasn't gotten above 30°F in days, remote start still works.

Here's hoping. No idea when I'll see 7 on my S23 but security patches are a regular thing.

In my experience Samsung sends out updates monthly. So it should be coming out any day now. Hopefully they got the fix into the January release.

Nicely put, but nothing you say will ever persuade folks around here that it's not on Ford to make sure Samsung updates are flawless. ?

Samsung update fixes PAAK
Ford sucks. ??
