Day 4 of ownership of AWD ER Mach E and have tried repeatedly remote start/precondition. It’s worked twice. Rest of the time I get a message to say the car has gone into Deep Sleep mode. Ford’s definition of deep sleep mode is excessively low temperatures or when the car has stood for over 14 days without use, neither of which apply to me. The car can literally be turned off, and within minutes FP app says the car is in deep sleep. Why?? I’ve read other posts about the same issue but is there a solution to this problem? Haven’t approached the dealer yet to see what their view on it is.

I also saw mine go into deep sleep a few times when I don't expect it to be.

Did you set preconditioning ?

I noticed it goes in deep sleep also when you remotely wake it up and then don't get in the car.
So I manually remote start it, it warms up for 10 minutes. After that it goes in deep sleep, I can't wake it up again in the app.

Deep sleep and sleep are two separate modes. You’re vehicle should NOT be going into deep sleep mode everyday. You may have an issue with your 12v or software issues. Do you keep your vehicle plugged in?

No, it’s only plugged in to charge and when it’s plugged in there’s no problem remotely starting it. About 30mins later though it goes back in to deep sleep. Car booked to go back to dealers for diagnostic check next week.

Others have reported similar behavior, but it's definitely not normal. My car sits unplugged in the cold garage for days at a time and has never gone into deep sleep mode.

Take it back to the dealer. 12v battery is either bad or needs a deep charge. I had the same issue, they put it on their "super" charger for half a day and it's been fine ever since.

You may want to keep it plugged in until you get it looked at. Seems like the car doesn’t forget to charge the 12v when it’s plugged in. Just set a charge limit to 90% or less.
It is recommended that the vehicle stays plugged in whenever it’s not used but either way you shouldn’t be having this issue on a daily basis.

Did you ever get this sorted? My RWD ER goes into deep sleep an hour or so after locking it too. The dealer has run 'extensive' tests and all came back green apparently. They have also been in touch with Ford who said they've never heard of this issue. Seems to be quite a common problem that Ford are in denial about ?

Hi, no the problem is still not sorted. It’s been into the dealer who said the auxiliary battery was low and they gave it a boost together with a software update. It solved the problem for a few weeks but it started again a couple of weeks ago….I guess when the aux battery started running low again. So its booked to go back next week, and the dealer has agreed to put a new battery in. He told me their master technician had been in contact with Ford, who had suggested some other options to try (dont know what they are but Ford sure as hell are aware of this problem). I’ve been told by the dealer that if the problem persists after the next visit, I should start a complaint with Ford as pretty much the car isn’t fit for purpose; Ford make a huge song and dance about being able to control the car via the app but you can’t do it because of this deep sleep issue. To me, they’ve sold me a car that unless they can solve this problem, fails all their marketing and sales hype of connectivity etc.

It’s a real shame as I really love the car and if only I could rely on the car not going into this deep sleep mode I’d be a 100% happy customer. I had the ability to precondition/remote start my previous car (Volvo XC60) and it worked perfectly. So I don’t know if this is an inherent problem with the Mach-E or if we’re just the unlucky ones.

Based on my experience, your problem is not inherent in the design. The fact that a boost of the LVB corrected the issue for a short period tells me that the LVB is either defective or not being maintained properly by the car. The issue should be correctable by one (or a combination) of: LVB replacement, DC-DC converter replacement, or software update.

I hope the dealer gets it sorted for you!

I've the same problem unfortunately and it's an old problem. It never worked as it should on my Mach-E4X.
