We aren't fully EV yet as $$$ but we are looking at an electric bike to offset the short trips to grocery store etc. when the other driver in the house has the MachE.

Minus the motorcycle (which gets about 125 miles per 4 gallon tank due to a flashed ECU and straight exhaust/open air intake)… full EV fam. Wife picked up a ‘23 VW ID4 in January w/ 3 years of 30 minute EA charging and we have rooftop home solar for the pony.

We have our MachE and a Honda minivan. I almost traded the van in for an EV9....but now thinking I am going to wait for the ID Buzz. With three kids max space is pretty important to us. Now if Ford made something similar to the EV9 I would be all over it.

...my snowblower is ICE...
I hear you there.

I'm all for all electric, but I'm also practical with my money. I bought our snowblower in 1996 for $700 with tax. I take good care of it, and most winters I don't use one tank of gas the entire winter (even in SE Michigan). A tiny plug-in model won't work, and batteries don't like cold, and I'm not spending a boatload on one that can handle it.

I also haven't replaced the POC push mower that occasionally use in tight spots (didn't even use it this past mowing season). I did evaluate the battery push mowers, and the self-propelled ones, and determined they were not built substantial enough for my use (reviews noted "plastic mower deck and such"). I like to run over stuff. 🤣

And, I evaluated zero turn battery models as compared to gas and found that they are a) too reduced range to do my property and b) the lifespan and subsequent replacement cost of the batteries is too high, so I bought a gas one.

I do my part, but it has to work with my lifestyle and needs.

Your post and other vibes throughout the forum make me suspect that if I did a poll asking what percentage of the owners are male versus female, I suspect the answer would be heavily tilted to male. I don't say that or mean that as derogatory in any way. I do, however, think it's the reality.

Perhaps someone else can do that poll.
I am not going to do a poll but my wife worked for the local Ford dealer for 35 years. For the last 20 she was the office manager with a demo so she drove a new car every 5,000 miles. That really equated to me as we worked near each other so I dropped her off at work and was able to use the demo. We had many models and the only car she has ever really “loved” is our current Mach e.

Retired. I'd say it was a mid life crisis, but not many people live to 140.

GTPE is my only car.

Drive 120-140 miles on a day I travel, and unlikely I would exceed the car’s normal round trip range even if exploring.

While appreciating that the DC charging infrastructure needs to improve, it hasn’t been a problem.

The Charge Assist application on the main screen is helpful when I do exceed the range.

Prefer the horse country and the Blue Ridge to the desert and Rockies. 😉

I haven't thought about the Blue Ridge Parkway in a while. I was last on it in 2012. I'll bet that is to die for in an MME in the Fall.
When talking about Tale of the Dragon, we generally want to avoid saying, “to die for.”

I saw the EV9 while I was charging yesterday at EVGo and the owner showed me the interior and while I loved the 3 row seating & high tech driver info screens, the hard plastic all around was a no - especialy at the $60K price point.

Right now we just have the Mach-E Premium--and a Focus, Escort and F-350. The Escort is just for emergencies, and the truck is only used a few times a year. Out hope is to replace the Focus in another year or so with a second EV; or possibly to replace it and the F-350 with a Lightning. We'll get to being an all-EV house, the industry is ready, our bank account isn't LOL.

Sounds like you bought the wrong version of an EV.

I just purchased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve for my wife. There are absolutely zero battery powered vehicles that have all the features and capabilities this has. Zero. And I paid less than I paid for my MME. You give up lot to be soley BEV IMO.

Maybe one day the entry cost will be equivalent to an ICE. Today is not that day.
