I do believe they included buttons to move the windows up and down. So there must be an expectation that they would be used at some point. Just driving for two minutes to purge the heat out or approaching a toll both is enough to get it flapping and dancing like crazy. They would have just been better to not include it.
I hate the included cargo cover as well - darn thing never stays attached even just opening and closing the trunk. But I use my buttons to open and close the windows exclusively to order food at drive throughs ??

TBH, I just let mine flap. Because as Nelly Furtado sang beautifully, I'm like a bird.

Also, some of yall need to turn down the efficiency worry a bit and enjoy some of life's simple pleasures like cruising around with the windows down on a nice day.

Or don't. I'm not your boss.

Just speaking for me, I love a good ride with the windows down.
Couldn’t agree more. On top of that, not only will I drive with all the windows down, sometimes if it’s a little too hot I will also run the a/c at the same time just so the air blowing around is a little cooler before it is forever lost to the atmosphere a half second later. Basically the opposite of a neck warmer heater on a convertible.

Mine doesn’t seem to flap unless I have the rear windows open, and even then not until over 40 mph. I pretty much figure that given the aero losses I shouldn’t have the windows down much past 35 anyhow. I still don’t use the A/C unless my dog is in the car. ??

It is possible no one from engineering for the rear compartment ever checked in with production. Explain this one to me:

How does the FACTORY cargo mat not fit? Or is it a feature, not a bug, to keep shmutz from going down the crack?
The factory mat fits better with the cargo floor in the lower position than in the upper position. Most aftermarket cargo mats fit better in the upper position. ?ā€ā™‚?

Hold up, the floor has different positions? Gonna have to check into that.

Edit: I'm more confused than before. Clearly no one from engineering talked to anyone else. I had to remove the Styrofoam thingy to get the load floor to sit flat, and the mat now fits decently. So I had to remove factory parts to move the floor to a non-obviois position the get the factory mat to fit.

Weird.

Try putting the floor on the lower setting if you don’t mind it won’t be level with the folded seats. When on the lower level it fits better. But yeah it would have been nice if it fit on the upper level and rans an inch or so short on the lower level. I curved mine down to fit for awhile then moved the floor.

You guys got a cargo cover???? I thought that was a drogue chute. Been trying to figure out where the deployment button is in the sync system to no avail....

Does anyone know if there's any heat resistance benefit of keeping the privacy cover in place?

Not sure, but I left mine in. My dog’s crate just fits under it in the back with the floor on its lowest level. ?ā€ā™‚?

My factory cargo mat fits with the floor upper position without bending as much as yours. It does fit perfectly with the floor in the lower position. Maybe the interior is a little different between trim models. Mine came as ordered with the ā€˜21 MME Premium.

I've taken every cargo cover out of every car on day one for at least 20 years. I can't remember the last time I had a car without properly tinted rear windows anyway. The covers just get in the way.

I complained about this on the first day that I got the car. It’s too cheap and too flimsy for a $60,000 vehicle. Regardless, I had a darker tint added to the rear hatch window so I don’t have to deal with it flapping in the wind or coming off when I have luggage or something oblong back there.

Can't be done with the cheap, atrocious, awful, dreadful, lousy, junky, poor, abominable, unacceptable, POS cargo cover they've designed.

Mine is going in the trash where it belongs and I'm not spending my own money on a ASOK one to replace what Ford should have provided in the first place. At least the windows are tinted pretty well to keep curious eyes off the few things I ever carry.

I’ve never had issues with my cargo cover. I do remember in one of the early pre-launch videos, ford was quite proud of the cargo cover. Apparently, it comes from some European ford. They’re proud of the flexibility and bendi-ness of the cargo cover, allowing you to put things taller than the cover in the cargo compartment in there, and i6 stretches to accommodate them without permanently deforming.
