No, but I do have long golden locks and have been known to sleep in others beds.
Gee, I only have curly black locks. I sleep wherever I want. The crate is the best! ??

It does suck...

but there are several workarounds.

One easy way to stop the flapping is to wire wrap, or rubberband the hooks so they don't disengage from holders.

Second way is to cut some heavier fabric or stiff foamboard to match, and spray adhesive on top.

Third way is to get some paint, and roll a couple layers on top.... but the glare from light colors can be bad....
I used supermarket twist ties. The hook needs a spring clip.

I agree it's a trash and piece of shit, I drive with windows down all the time, very cheap solution, the plastic holders are a joke, will break soon.

But to be fair, they cheaped out on contactors, do you really think they will pay attention to that!

I had few hatchbacks and suvs nothing that cheap! The cargo covers I have on our Elantra GT and Prius are 1000 times better than that of the Mach E.

It's incredibly inefficient to drive with the windows down, especially at speeds that would make things fly around inside the car. So, no, they probably did not make driving with the windows down in a car that they wanted to squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of a priority

man, you guys can really find just every little thing to complain about with this car
If you drive with the driver window down you will know what this guy is going through, it block 20-30% of my view at least.

I fixed my cargo cover, no issues anymore. When I get back home I can post some pictures. Inexpensive and easy to make it great

It’s true this is super minor. But I also think it’s worth mentioning, this vehicle was not meant to be the pinnacle of EV efficiency.

No one is setting an efficiency record trying to match the 0 - 60 times Ford likes to promote for this vehicle.
Agreed. If i was worried about efficiency I would be on the Nissan Leaf page now instead of here where they sell extra powerful versions they label as Mustang GTs. Promising speed and performance.

And my other two cars wouldn’t be a GT convertible which probably has the efficiency of a brick when the top is down and A/C on and a Bullitt with a tire smoking extra 20HP over a standard GT and a wonderful 16MPG. ?

I know this isn’t an ideal solution, but when I am planning on driving with the windows down, which I rarely do due to aerodynamic losses, I simply take the cargo cover out and put it on the floor of the cargo area.
Gotta say, I have never, ever, in my entire life even considered the possibility that someone might plan to drive with the windows down. I also haven't considered aerodynamic losses from 4/60 AC since that one time 20 years ago when I saw the difference was like 0.0004% over a zillion miles (figures not to scale).

But, I agree, if you are planning to drive windows down, you're probably in a position to take that step and drop the cover.

Does seem like a bad design choice, though, if it flaps around a lot, which it probably does because it's pretty flimsy. I took mine out after I noticed it was there about a week after I got it. If someone wants to steal the bag of reusable grocery bags I leave back there, so be it. I was hoping it would fold up like those kid's tent things, but it didn't, so it's jammed behind a shelf in the garage, where it will probably stay until the shelf gets moved for whatever reason.

Can't be done with the cheap, atrocious, awful, dreadful, lousy, junky, poor, abominable, unacceptable, POS cargo cover they've designed.

Mine is going in the trash where it belongs and I'm not spending my own money on a ASOK one to replace what Ford should have provided in the first place. At least the windows are tinted pretty well to keep curious eyes off the few things I ever carry.
I like to drive with the drivers window down and the rear passenger window down to get some nice cross airflow going on and I agree the cargo cover starts going crazy, but with just my drivers window down it stays put.

It's labeled a Mustang Mach-e GT. There's a very big difference between the name of that trim line and a Mustang GT.

TBH, I just let mine flap. Because as Nelly Furtado sang beautifully, I'm like a bird.

Also, some of yall need to turn down the efficiency worry a bit and enjoy some of life's simple pleasures like cruising around with the windows down on a nice day.

Or don't. I'm not your boss.

Just speaking for me, I love a good ride with the windows down.

It is possible no one from engineering for the rear compartment ever checked in with production. Explain this one to me:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Did not one person from Ford ever drive with the windows down during development? 20220721_133746

How does the FACTORY cargo mat not fit? Or is it a feature, not a bug, to keep shmutz from going down the crack?
