OK; maybe this has been intuitive for Mach-e owners, but I'm wondering if everyone is aware of it.

Simply put: a quick/short push of the talk button will establish vocal communication with the Ford Sync system. So, if you want to turn the vehicle's radio and select a specific station, you can do a quick tap and state something like: "FM89.7." Accessing other Sync function will work similarly.

But a long push will bring up Android Auto or the comparable Apple voice system, so if you use Android Auto for navigation, for example, a long push will allow you to state something like: "Navigate to the closest Home Depot," etc.

I didn't know this, until my car told me. I accidentally did a "long press" but was not using any Android Auto or Car Play at the time. The car told me - "to use voice commands, use a short-press of the talk button".

Not sure I'd really call it a hack. Every car I've had with a voice button has worked that way. I bet it's even in the owner's manual.

I never use the ford thing, only Siri, so I’m quite used to it. I think my last car was similar so I just kept it up.

ASTOUNDING! It's almost as though Ford meant to do this!

This is pretty well known for anyone who has used the Ford Sync system any length of time.
I've had a series of Fords over the decades, including the first available with their Sync system (Sync 1, although they never called it that). This only became a feature when Android Auto and the Apple Car systems became available. In any case, without it I find it frustrating going through the screens to select radio stations. So, if it helps a few folks that didn't know it--great. If not, my bad...

Wow, fourteen posts and no RTFM from Rick. I hope he's not in the hospital or something! (Though he'll not see this since he blocked me.)

Sorry Tom, I did not mean to minimize what you said as unimportant, this is good information and you are right, I'm sure many have not figured it out yet, thanks for putting it out there.
