I have an attached garage and the car locks and unlocks all day whenever I walk around home with my phone. Is there a way to disable auto lock with PAAK? I do want the vehicle to autolock with the fob as I think it’s a great convenience and security feature.

I don't know of a way to disable autolock for just PAAK, but you could just not keep your phone connected to the car. I only connect when I actually need to go somewhere or otherwise get into the vehicle.

When you walk nearby with PaaK or the fob, the car may detect your presence and perk up... But it's not unlocked until you press a door button while standing very close by with the PaaK or fob.

Use a friend or family member to test. Walk around with PaaK while the other person without any key tries to open a locked door.

I don’t have anyone to test with right now :( but how do I disable the perking up? I hear a high pitched whine whenever I get close or move away from the car. I can’t imagine this is good for the longevity of its electronics (a bit hypocritical as I routinely drive 90mph ?)

Agree. This is correct.

To the OP....
What you may be experiencing is a very common occurrence where the car fails to auto lock when PaaK enabled phone leaves the area. If I am using PaaK, I MUST always remember to manually lock the vehicle because it isn't reliable from the phone. When using the fob, there isn't any issue. It locks when the fob leaves the area. Then when the fob or phone gets near, the car does greet you but the doors don't actually unlock until the button is pushed.

I think there is a setting in Sync to turn off the greeting lights. The car will still wake up though. It's not a Mach-E specific thing. Pretty much all new vehicles make clicks and whirrs at randome times throughout the day. With or without the key nearby.

Hmm, mostly I just hear clicks and clacks (various relays opening and closing). The LED lights might emit a high pitch but I can't hear it personally.

I hear those too, but The clicks and clacks all day can’t be good either? I otherwise really do like the welcome lights and think Ford did well with the pony puddle light.

I wondered about that too. But nearly 2 years with the car and no apparent issues so I think it's just normal operation. These days I start to worry if my car isn't up to something when I walk by. :)

Yeah I was gonna say the same.

I've also rented a 2020 Escape Hybrid that did the same clicks and clacks when I walked by it. I'm going to assume the relays are properly rated for a very long lifetime of switching. :)
