I would start with “Pan the organizer” YouTube channel. You’ll be up to speed in no time.

Fair warning: The detailing rabbit hole goes deep. One minute you’re looking for a good wash mitt, the next you’ve got a couple grand worth of power washing equipment in your Amazon cart.

Very familiar with rabbit holes, that's how I ended up with a Mach E after a week or so of deep diving. ?

Amazon cart has a ton of detailing stuff in it already. Hopefully I can narrow it down soon.

Goal = easy application + longevity(very relative, I know).............................possible?

I used the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray on the entire exterior of the car (including the glass, wheels, painted brake calipers...) and on the inside frames of the doors about 2 months ago. I followed up on a second coat about two weeks ago.

Prior to applying, I washed and used a clay bar to get off some of the stuck on bugs.. etc. For $15, I'm shocked at how well it works. (Compared to about $1,000 for the professional.) It went on very easy and a little goes a long way. Apply in a small area with one microfiber cloth and buff dry with another.

To my knowledge, it doesn't offer the UV protection like the pros, but mine is garage kept. The beading is great and follow up washes are soooo much easier. Most debris just falls right off. Reapplying is not an issue, but I'm most concerned about whether it will flake or yellow.... only time will tell.

For the price it sounds hard to beat and is super easy to apply. I only have a covered carport but our property is heavily wooded so has plenty of shade.

Thanks

I have really enjoyed the look of Turtle Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray. It's not as durable as traditional ceramic (ie I think it tends to last 6 months per application or so) but it is WAY easier to apply, and something I don't mind doing once or twice a year. It also works really, really well - mine still beads like it did when I first applied it two months ago. If you look on YouTube for reviews of this stuff, it seems like a real sleeper hit and fantastic value.
Yes to Hybrid Solutions.....Awesome and maintain with their detailer. $15 for the product and $15 for the detailer. Here is the beading after 2 months.....

Please dont waste your $$$ on cheap Ceramic. You'll be wasting your time and money. If you're going to do it, get at least a decent coating.

For consumer grade, I really like the Gyeon Mohs line.

I'll likely be doing my car with SPS Graphene once it's not 100F out.

I really like Ammo NYC stuff, maybe I'm in the minority. I personally don't really care if it costs slightly more considering I'm not a full time detailer and only need 1 or 2 bottles per year of whatever is low. I also like supporting Larry since I've learned pretty much everything I know about detailing from his channel, I've even called him with questions and he's like under someone's car detailing it casually having a conversation about products, cars we've owned, etc. Super nice guy, well respected in the community.

With his enamel products he'll tell you it'll be a 1 year product, but if you actually take care of your car it will easily be 2-3 years of protection especially if you detail it and reapply sealant on top, etc. Not complicated to apply either.

One negative I found with Ceramic coatings is I often will use a quick detailer after a wash to remove any water spots I didn't get to in time when drying...the coating prevents the waxes from bonding and it ends up a streaky mess... That's resolved with the right product like CarPro Reload...but that stuff is a lot more expensive. I will say, I do love its application properties and look though.

This looks much easier to apply than some of the other products I've looked at

Good to know as I'm a big fan of spray detailers too

And a good thing with Larry's products is he's all about layering. So he makes his products to be like ceramic/enamel on bottom, sealant on top of that, wax/sprays on top of that. etc. He's definitely a detailing nerd and loves to stack as much as he can on his personal cars to get as much protection and shine at the same time.

So this is my RR EX4 with the Last Coat 2.0. Pretty pleased with the results. This is 2 coats after 24 hour cure time. I see that the Griots Garage 3-1 Ceramic got really good reviews as well. Probably better than the Last coat. This goes on really easy. I did clay bar entire car before applying

Most don't have any idea that you can and should do this. It's an amazing process that grabs what the wash didn't, and it's noticeable.

This is what I used too. The Last Coat is still looking good and beading water well 5 months in. I did just hit it with their AMP today. But it still looks amazing. I also did the wife’s car with Chemical Guys HydroSlick. Both good products. The devil is in the prep.

Used meguiars new hybrid paint coating on a customers car today. Impressed with its ease of use. Happens to be a neighbor so will check in a year and see how it's holding up
