Getting a car off the dealer lot but it's not there yet so I can't look at it. It comes with the interior protection package. I asked if I could delte it and save the money and sales guy said "no" because ti's baked into the MSRP and that's what the zplan price and lease is based off of. I'm not concerned at all about dirt or liquid spills. I'm interested in aethetics. Can anyone tell me what they floor liners look like compared to the normal carpets? If they look equally good then I'm OK. But I want a sporty luxury look, not an outdoorsy look. If they don't look as "refined" as the normal carpets then I need to talk to the sales guy about swapping them out. If I need to do that I want to do it as I'm making my final negotiation when they will be more willing to help me out with this. Anyone know what the normal floor carpets would cost from the parts department. If they are cheaper that will help me convince them to swap them out at the dealership.

Not sure what they cost, but my 2023 Premium came with the interior protection package and I got the regular carpet mats still in their plastic bag.
The rubber mats look very nice and are very easy to clean. Just take them out, throw on the ground, and hose them off. Very little need to vacuum, which would be the case with carpet mats.

On the other hand, I bought a 2023 GTPE w/protection package and did not receive any carpet mats, only the rubber ones...

Yes, carpet mats are deleted with IPP.

IPP also gives you the rear cargo cover, but some people (especially GTs) have reported they still got a freebie cargo cover even without the IPP option.

If it was selected as a factory option (which IPP is) then you can’t delete it as it’s considered part of the whole car as it left the factory.

Bingo.

I would add that Ford mats don't go under the pedals like 3rd party mats.

Does this mean that instead of trying to get them to swap the IPP floor mats for the normal carpet ones I should look for after market carpets? If so anyone have a recommendation. If that's already covered elsewhere let me know. I couldn't find it.

Ford carpeted mats are useless in any environment that brings dirt or snow into the vehicle. I put them in a bag and then reinstall them when I sell the vehicle.

Ford floor liners, and mats, don't go under pedals, like most car companies, for safety reasons. I nice dirty or snowy foot and your car carpet is getting dirty or wet.

I never use carpeted mats in any vehicle, ever. I use floor liners.

The dealership is unlikely to do any swapping.

It doesn't snaw where I live and I'm not worried about dirt. Not worried about the floor. Not even worried about the rear. Have zero interest in protection and 100% desire for best possible looking interior, incuding what's on the floor in the cabin and in the rear.

You will need to take the all weather mats that comes with it on the window sticker. You can order whatever you want for it later. But you can’t change the equipment the car is sold with. So dealer is correct in this case, no swaps.

If you are interested in very high quality carpeted floor mats that have a lifetime warranty I’d recommend Lloyds Luxe Mats.

I put them in all my vehicles. Had them in my 2007 F-150 from day one which had 280K miles when I sold it. The drivers mat had a slight impression where my right foot sat and that’s all. I wash them in a front load washer and air dry.

I'll second Lloyds Luxes, my set just came in yesterday and I like them a lot! The carpet does not go under the pedals and they click into the factory mounts just as securely as the rubber mats.

(ignore the dirt, I'm pulling the A/B pillar to drop the headliner tonight, it's been on the list long enough that I've been ignoring detailing haha (also ignore the poor fitment of the trunk liner, that's entirely the fault of my subwoofer))

For anyone following along with my audio build, these mats provided a mild improvement in RT60 decay under 100hz which is exactly what I was looking for :)

PS - thanks Mark for the recommendation!

Good luck with the headliner. Time consuming job. 😊
