Is there an adapter that can be used in my dryer outlet? The one that came with the car doesn't fit. Thanks!

You would need to buy a charger that only pulls 24amps (or can be set to do so). Ford Mobile Charger pulls 32amps and is not adjustable. And you need to ensure that the outlet is a heavy duty one for the continuous load.

Don’t take that risk. Run a new circuit. A house fire could be a bad result

A dryer circuit should be fine to use but you do need a charger that's adjustable. Typically dryers use a 30 amp circuit so the most you could do with a EV charger is 24 amp. Most aftermarket installed charger are adjustable

I would not do this as a permanent solution but a good solution for a rental property / temporary. At my inlaws they wired a plug to the old dryer circuit is no longer in use as they now have a gas dryer.

Check the RV section at the local Walmart! What you should really do is have an electrician install a 14-50 receptacle with the proper wiring and breaker.

A knowledgeable person can say that:

The breaker box is adequate
The wire leading to the dryer is adequate
The new hardware you can install to switch back and forth from dryer to EV is adequate.

It all should be hard wired.

The 240v plug on the mobile car charger is a NEMA 14-50 plug, designed to carry 32amps of current continuously without heating up.

It doesn't fit in your dryer outlet because it is likely rated for 30amps. You do NOT want to get an adaptor and use that outlet because the wires and the breaker running to your main service are likely rated for 30amp.

You should have an Electrician run a circuit using a 50amp breaker and awg6 gauge wire to a new NEMA 14-50 outlet.... and then you can use your mobile charger safely.

I did this using a SplitVolt device and a SplitVolt charging device. One is a automated switch that switches to the dryer is it is used otherwise it has the charger output on. I had the 10-30 dryer outlet instead of the 14-30 so I got the 10-30 SplitVolt switch and the 10-30 SplitVolt charging adapter. They sell a few different versions but I would get the one that matches your dryer outlet and stay with that for the charging cable also since that will tell the car the correct charging current to used for that setup. I think mine draws 24 amps when charging.
