Question: With out Blue Cruise, will lane centering and smart cruise control still work? So in other words the car will steer for itself as long as it senses my hand on the wheel?

The newer generation BC does much better on highway bends. I feel very comfortable using it hands-free.

It’s even better on 1.0 than it used to be, but that’s not my concern. It’s possible that in a highway turn, if you don’t keep a hand on the wheel, it is completely possible that the system will cut out immediately without a message to put your hands on the wheel. That means that just a fraction of a second the car can leave the driving lane and cause an accident. I know this because it’s happened to me in a straight road, bypassing lane centering all together. Without your hand on the wheel in a turn, you can’t prevent an accident if your hand isn’t already on the wheel. Just sharing my experience. I have had others confirm the same experience on this thread, and others who basically think I wasn’t paying attention or don’t understand how the system works. My advice, put a hand on the wheel in highway bend.

I was hoping with Blue Cruise coming out this month they would extend our free offer a bit longer so we can test it. But I got this today.

I didn't get the email, but I went to the Ford website and was able to get the 3 year plan for $600. My current trial subscription ends on 12/31/2023 so my credit card will be processed after that date and the new expiration date will be 01/01/2027.

Take rate is going to be important, vote with your dollar, you know that any variation of BC isn’t worth 800 a year. Refuse to subscribe, demonstrate to Ford that it’s worth something, sure, but not what they are asking for.

Very much this, but it's important for people with Job 1 cars to take the $600 offer. If 80% do, and only 20% pay the $800/year they probably won't lower the price.

I've noticed that when I am in a Hands On BC area only that I have still received alerts to watch the road. I assume if you don't have BC HF, the eye nanny will still be active.

i just paid the $600 for 3 more years for my job1... just got power up 6.6 last night. BC1.3 by christmas would be great

From elsewhere on this site my understanding is "Yes".

1.3 will offer lane changing which won't be available via smart cruise.

Actually 1.2 has lane change detection while on BC.

My '23 Job 1 will automatically suggest a lane change and if I accept, just tap the turn signal stalk and the car moves over safely.

If I ignore the message, it will not lane change.

My 2023 MME's BlueCruise Trial Expiration Date has been pushed out to 02/29/24.

Yes, mine is good until 7/30/24 as I purchased my '21 on 7/31/21 and from what I've read, we ('21s) have the three year trial of BC.

Hopefully I'll have BC 1.4 before I have to decide if I want another 3 years @ $600

/we'll see, have only used it sparingly so far. 1.1 isn't 'safe' enough yet.

Seems like it would since the latest maps are required for bluecruise operation.

I like Blue Cruise at $600 for 3 yrs. I do not like it at $800 per yr.

Got the email and renewed. I'm due to expire end of the year.

What are the odds that since I've paid, and in the EA program that Ford will bump me up the list for BC 1.4
